When I built my '23 on toyota's website it wasn't an option for base OR...but was for ORP. This was back in Nov '22.

I sold my 2019 OR and purchased an 2021 ORP. I really like having Softex seats.
My son's pitbull fur is so small it would just get imbedded into the cloth fibers. Drove me nuts.
Plus, with Softex all the fast-food crumbs, in the drivers seat, are much easier to clean up!

i debated OR vs ORP and ORP made more sense especially since shopping used the price difference wasn’t that bad also considering I would have wanted to cover the seats (husky fur) and add seat heaters (OH is cold!). I agree with some others that the cloth seats are more comfy.

While cross shopping, I didn’t find that the sunroof impacts driver headroom on the 4Runner that much. I had a similar debate on my previous Tacoma and ended going OR since the sunroof had a really noticeable impact on headroom in that case.

Sunroof was still optional although most ORPs came with them. My 21 ORP does not have a sunroof. Like you, exactly what I wanted. Never liked having a sunroof. Especially after having had multiple vehicles that had leaks, broken rails etc...

I thought that only the SR5P, ORP, Pro, and Limited received the heated wheel in the USA.

That may be but I'm not sure. I was only comparing the OR and ORP in my case. I didn't consider the other trims.

mine does have the MTM camera system. This system seems to have lowered the overall image quality though so much so that it barely crosses the threshold of being useful

That's what the conjecture seems to be, if you have MTM it degrades the backup camera quality significantly. I just picked up my ORP yesterday that does not have MTM and the camera doesn't look terrible to me. It's not like HD either but adequate and on par with my Pioneer head unit that I had in my 2011 Tacoma.

Here's my 2023 ORP sticker (partial). Moonroof clearly an option (but probably they are rare to find without).

I would venture to guess it's a regional thing. My ORP does not have a moonroof but did see other ORP's in my area that did have it. I also can't get KDSS as KDSS is not offered by Gulf States Toyota from what I read somewhere.

I have one of the rare ORPs that does not have sunroof
I ended up getting exact configuration I wanted — no KDSS no sunroof ORP. Didn’t get my first color choice (white) but very happy with the trim.

Yes that is correct. And it’s not the greatest heated steering wheel: my Tesla has some sweet heated seats and steering wheel. My Runner OTOH is just meh
