Been also running this mod for a while with no issues. The nice thing about it is its completely reversible. No wiring has been altered. I’m just planning to buy another set of hp48 bulbs before they run out or get discontinued in the future.

    Hello,
I have a '22 TRD ORP with OEM exhaust. I prefer a side exit exhaust to eliminate the rotten egg stench and have an appointment with a muffler shop to have a bend put in to re-route the end so it side exits vs. back exit. How might one come by a Pro side exit? Did a perfunctory search with no luck.
Thanks and sorry to jack your thread.

I don’t think Toyota sells the TRD Pro Tip by itself. You can search eBay or forums like this for used ones. Or you can settle for the genuine Toyota clamp-on tip. Its round and it has a toyota logo instead of TRD and get it welded.

Thanks but looking for the side exit part of the TRD Pro pipe. Not just the tip.

Seems like I should understand this better but are these 3 wires all connected? BTW this is a great looking mod.

The black wire was spliced to the blue wire on the other connector. It was either just a black wire with that connector crimped on that came from a scrap harness or he crimped it on himself. It would not have come with the parts from Amazon.

Yes they are connected. The red and black are shorted together to provide power to the passenger side and also to the pink wire, that will travel to the other side. The bulb on the driver side is already grounded. Nothing to touch in the driver side bulb.

Its a scrap grounding terminal that i found in the garage. You can get one at any autozone, or homedepot.

I just bought an inferno & it doesn’t have the TRD exhaust. Doubt the 2020+ fits but haven’t done the research. I’m def adding the TRD exhaust - anyone selling one in Denver? Love to have one on my inferno

Post a pic of your harness showing what wires you connected just to double check

what color are the wires in the oem connectors that connect to the bulbs, on both driver and passenger side?

I don’t really know what you’re doing wrong but lets recap. You have a 22 4Runner with LED headlamps right? Your HI and LO beams are coming from 1 bulb which are the 2 outer bulbs right?

If you follow the connection of the harness and find a good and secure grounding spot. I don’t think there will be a problem.

Also, if you decide not to move forward with the mod, don’t leave them unplugged. Just turn them off.

In my 2021 TRD ORP I just did a straight replacement of the factory DRL bulbs with Alla Lighting PZ20d fog light & DRL LED bulbs: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AHO8NX4?ie=UTF8

They have been in for a few months with no issues. I measured the voltage at the connector at ~5 volts and the LED bulbs I put in seem to be operating just fine.

If they don’t flicker, those are good option instead of adding a sub-harness.

I was going to ask… why not just put in a 9005 led even if it’s a little bit dimmer at only 6V? I don’t need a super bright DRL. But now you have me wondering… is flicker the larger issue and not just a dimmer bulb?

Yes - flicker would be the concern. The Alla Lighting PZ20d LED bulbs that I am using and mentioned above do not flicker (so far) and they are pretty inexpensive at ~$25. They are rated at 1600 lumens per bulb (which is a bit high for a DRL) but do not seem overly bright nor have I had any complaints from on coming drivers.

So close to finishing this, but I cannot for the life of me get the ground bolt off. What tool did you all use to loosen that? Space is pretty tight.
