I have found that most dealers do markups on pro's, about half do them on off-roads. Now if any dealers do them on Sr5's that's just straight up greed.

Toyota of Plano generally has been at msrp prices when they have allocation or stock (including pros).

SF Toyota is marking up PRO's by $5k

Tracy Toyota and Berkeley Toyota are marking up, as well, not just their PRO line.

I paid $500 below MSRP for a 2021 Venture, plus the $750 factory discount, but that was back in mid May, before the factory halted build orders. I had called all over the place within 500 miles and only found 3 unsold, nothing on the lot. Venture has everything I wanted without going to the pro.

The best dealership experience I have ever had was at K-M Toyota in North Adams, MA. Tiny town, tiny dealership, no BS at all. Waited 4-5 months and finally got mine December 2020, before it went insane. By the summer of 2020, things were already a little weird in the used market, which is why I actually bought new, and this father-son team got their supply rep to earmark my TRDP in their allocation.

Don't know what they could do now under the new circumstances, but I will say it was a great deal, and they will give it to you straight, whatever their situation is.

Can confirm: we put our deposit down in October, and took delivery in March. Paid MSRP for a Lunar Rock Pro, with no markup. Highly recommend Mountain States in the Denver metro area.

I would wager any dealer in the midwest (outside of Chicago) would have everything MSRP. My Pro next week is MSRP

I mean, nobody really will. It's more of an attention getter as well. Just got them nationally recognized (not in a good way, but nonetheless). Probably weeds out 95% of the 'bros' that call dealerships never intending to buy anyway.

I got my 2021 Toyota 4runner ORP at MSRP, no mark up or no dealer add-ons other than security feature which is optional. I worked with Emily Harvey at Carlsbad Toyota in Carlsbad, California. I highly recommend her. She was transparent throughout the buying process. I will be a long time customer and will recommend my parents buy their car with them.

Dealers I encountered that marked up prices were Mossy Toyota of Pacific Beach, California and Autonation of Cerritos, California. A bunch of greedy snakes.

I contacted them for a white Venture Edition with KDSS, moon roof and sliding cargo tray. They offered me a silver Venture Edition with no KDSS and the above add ons. (Previous post with image). It's a feeding frenzy out there.

Tell them you prefer tires that have no nitrogen and would be willing to pay extra for tires that have zero nitrogen in them.

And dealerships still aren’t listening to their customers. For shits I sent in a build sheet/quote request via Toyota website. I asked for an AG trail, got a message back with a quote for a blue Venture. Told the sales person I am looking for 3 things, AG, rear locker and no sunroof, and am in no hurry. The dude tried again with the venture, it checks none of my boxes, so I told them get me a Lunar Pro and I’d talk.

IMHO, unless you actually need a vehicle for transportation, now is not the time to buy new or used. This is not limited to the 4Runner. These kind of markups are for every new vehicle on the lot that is a popular seller. Rav 4, Tacomas, Tundra, F150. Ram trucks (Fiat/Chrysler), GM trucks, etc. Right now it's a sellers market. I am so grateful that I can afford to wait.

Of course if a 4Runner is something you really want and you can afford the markup then I say go for it and enjoy your purchase. This is a good thread to show what's out there and the price people are paying. I applaud those of you who can have no problem paying outrageous prices for this luxury vehicle in todays market.

This dealer is making it very clear that they are willing to hold on to this model and let it set on the lot. Best a serious buyer can do is make an offer of what they are willing to pay.

I'm making do with what I have for the next few years.

Yeah. I know. They must be under new management or are sucking into corporate greed. I live in Tucson and bought my 2014 Taco from them for 2K under MSRP plus they threw in door guards, cups and tint for free.
The times they are a changing.

I do have lead on what I want ( white Venture Edition with KDSS, moon roof and sliding rear cargo deck) but believe I'm dealing with an uninformed sales person
    Agreed:
    Sellers market.
    Limited supply
    End of MY .
I'm in no hurry so have no issue waiting for 22 MY and actually prefer BSM for next year.
Will either get a Pro or build an ORP.

I think it depends on what your doing. We had limited that we bought last year, drove cross country and decided that we didn’t want it as my wife’s daily, our run around vehicle due to mpgs being low. We traded it in, made over 5k and got rav4 prime at MSRP.

now, missing the 4Runner, I may trade my Tacoma in for a runner, but I will not pay over MSRP, and need to feel like I’m getting good money for my 17 sport (MT), which I got for about invoice. I figure the inflated value should make up for paying MSRP.

Asking $69,000 for a new 4runner at my local dealership. 15K+ in markups at Toyota North Miami for the trd pro in LR FOR NO REASON. Absurd pricing all around. Don't understand who is dumb enough to pay this...
