Mounting a GMRS radio handset

    @Sandbuster --- Won't your Motorola do "split mount" configuration (the control panel and mic separate from the body of the radio)? It looks like your knee would keep hitting the radio.

    In my 4Runner, I have the control head mounted just above the cubby hole and the radio box mounted under a seat with a speaker facing forward.

    works really well, I just used 2 lil L brackets from HD, and bent them to the angle I wanted.

    The DMR is not really wide enough to bother me. Where you have yours mounted is a great spot but in my case that’s where my trailer brake (remote) control is - I mounted it there specifically so I can manually (and easily) apply power to trailer brakes when the need arises. I looked at what few options there for mounting the radio prior to putting it next to the console - so little room in there…

    The center dash mount by ICS is clean and adds an additional 2 USBs. I have mine installed with a Ram short mount to a Quadlock case mount.
