Maybe a snack and something to drink.

We'll pass through Crooked lake in the middle of the day, which is the only time we'll have access to a regular bathroom. Otherwise, it's like primitive camping. Water a tree or dig a hole. I always carry tp. :D

Any recovery gear you have is good to bring as well. But, there will be a few of us that are well stocked, so no need to run out and buy anything.

I don't think we're doing dinner. I plan on hitting the road at dark.

That was a fun day! I hope to climb that again on Sunday, if there's time.

Looking back, I could have let a little more air out of the tires. I've done it a few times on the MT's and they definitely help.

They seem like a mostly good bunch.

    But...

At least one of their "ambassadors" has wrongfully and publicly accused us of running closed trails, so I'm not a big fan.

Even when we explained that I had actually talked to the forest service personally, we were accused of lying.

If there's one thing that really gets under my skin, it's having my integrity questioned by folks who don't even know me.

Plus, they seem more interested in creating private trails for their members than they are in trying to keep the public trails we have open.

I did hear that they went and did storm damage clean-up at some public trails in the past. But, when @Bookiebob offered to join them and help out, he was told he would need to join and pay the membership fee. Imagine someone making you pay to join an organization so you could volunteer to help out.

I'm sure he can correct me if I'm mistaken, though.

I get the feeling it's a profit oriented organization. I'd rather join one of the older clubs who are more interested in serving the off-road community as a whole.

I do think their members are generally good people. I would actually like to meet some of them in person and maybe get a new perspective on the group.

Hopefully I wasn't too over the top with my response. :D

My favorite part was when I ignored the spotter and got stuck! :anonymous:

But, I learned how to use the Hi-Lift (hopefully the only time I'll ever need to). And, I learned that my traction boards work. I think getting stuck a few times has been a good experience.

Please take my opinion with a grain of salt. I haven't personally interacted with them. And, one asshole doesn't necessarily mean anything about the entire group. I wouldn't want you to miss out just because I'm holding a grudge.

I believe @Chris In Milwaukee might be a member. Maybe he can provide better insight. I know he wouldn't hang out with assholes. :D

I am because I was looking into options for off-roading around here. But that one run-in with the one member kinda turned me off and I haven't checked in with them since. Yeah, he apologized, but it felt forced. I'm not thin-skinned, but whatever. There has also been some recent upheaval in the ranks of RL4WD. So at this point, I have the T-shirt and the sticker and that's about it. I hang out with you yoots when possible.

Leadership changes, viability of the organization, things of that sort. Looks like it's living on if not in a different format. I haven't really followed the whole sorted adventure. I'd have to check in on their forum to see what's transpired. But their forum isn't user friendly, so I don't even log in to it. It is what it is. o_O

    See you soon!

There's a Kwik trip at 141 & 22 if you're coming up 43/141. There's a Kwik trip just north of 29 on 47 if you come that way.

And, depending on what you need, there's Meatski's on 64, a big Shell in Mountain, and that gas station in Crooked Lake we'll stop at mid-day.
