    Hey All-
    PXL_20240424_194007981.jpg
    Happy Friday!

So, we brought home our new 2024 Limited on Wednesday, and the first thing the wife said when I pulled in the driveway with it was: "damn...that's a lot of silver...I think it needs some black wheels" :yay:I knew I loved her for a reason.

So, I've been diggin' around the board, gotten some feedback here and there...a couple of you have suggested going with ORP rims...mostly because they're the same +15mm offset as my current rims and 7.5" width. Problem is, all the ones I've found are also silver. So, I was hoping to draw on the larger population for its collective thoughts:

    1. I prefer OE rims and am drawn to the TRD Pro's...even though they're only 7" wide and offset +4 :

Question: Can I assume the extra 11mm further "outward" won't cause any drastic change in handling/steering? Would love to hear from any member's running the Pro rims on their Limited. Bonus points for pics :D

    2. I was planning on selling my stock tires/rims/TPMS sensors as a package.

Question: Is there any market for these? Also, I haven't priced new TPMS sensors yet, but really didn't want to pull them off my current wheels (?)

    3. Question: Assuming any discussion here doesn't talk me out of going with Pro rims...is there a better source for them than BAM Auto? I've run across a few used sets online, but all have been on the other side of the country (I'm in NJ)

Thanks everyone....hope you all have a good weekend.

    -Tim

    Welcome, fellow Limited owner!

We're on similar paths. I just got mine in February. I'm also a fan of the TRD Pro wheels but wanted a slightly wider wheel. I went with 17 x 8" / 0mm offset FN Wheels f(x) Pro wheels in matte black (https://www.fnwheels.com/store/product/fn-wheels-fx-pro/) - they're beautiful and Dustin (the owner of FN Wheels) was great to deal with.

I'm also probably going to sell my stock tires / rims / TPMS sensors as a set. I'll get new TPMS sensors with black valves from Discount Tire when I get my tires (Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts, XL load rated). Their sensors are about $60 each.

If you go with PRO rims and decide to order new, wait for a parts promotion. Toyota does this a lot where they offer 25% off and free ship over $75. May save you a bit. Check local FB marketplace for deals and maybe a local sale.

I know some tire shops, Discount Tire, has paid (discounted) owners for their low mile tire/wheel combo with the purchase of new wheels and tires.

I went with new take off ORP wheels and Wildpeaks in 265/70/17. Had Discount tire install their TPMS and program it. I kept my 20" stock wheels to put snow tires on. Keep your OEM TPMS sensors and have tire shop reinstall them on your wheels. There is no market for used Limited wheels/tires to speak of. Expect $400-600 with the new tires on, $200 for wheels only if you are lucky.

    Ouch. That stings.

If the OE rubber that came on them wasn't so awful, I might be inclined to keep them for reasons that I cannot think of at this very moment, but.....

    Thanks much!

Most prudent decision would be to wear out those tires, then swap but that could be a few years. Search FB marketplace to check prices in your area. I just checked again and 400-750. $750 for brand new wheels/tires. Might be able to sell yours, get a set of ORP 17" take offs with also a mediocre stock tire for about that and wear those out-then get tire of choice.

I did exactly what you're considering. I was shopping for wheels while the dealer was doing the paperwork on my new-to-me 2020 Limited.
    - I got new TRD wheels and 265/70 BFG KO2s.
    - I had Discount Tire take the TPMS sensors out of the 20s and put them in the new 17s
    - I listed the "Scratch-free 20s with new Yokohama 245/60/17s" on FB Market place for $1,200
    - I had a hit in 2 min. Then was flooded with inquiries. Seriously - like 15 in the first 20 min. Clearly some guys had set alerts!
    - First guy offered $1,000. I said "Give me 3 days at $1,200. If they don't sell, they're yours at $1,000"
    - He was at my house 40 min. later with 12 crisp $100 bills.
I probably could've asked for more, but was glad to have them gone.

We started from the same place!

This is GREAT to hear! I hate the idea of letting my original Limited wheels and tires go for pennies. $1000 to $1200 would be great for me.

Thanks for suggesting this. Out of curiosity, how would one sign up (and where) to hear about these promotions?

I'm not in a real rush, but would like to pull the trigger in the next 1-2 months.... preferably before I come to my senses...realizing what I've already spent on this endeavor and scrap the whole idea - LOL

    Thanks!

I plan to change mine out at some point but going to wait. In the interim I didn’t want all that chrome either so went with a $40 option of overlays. Been on for 6 months and look just like they did new. IMG_4161.jpg

Have you seen those 25% off and/or free shipping deals with the online Toyota parts sites? I just paid $959.15 to door for four TRD wheels. I can't imagine they'd sell them for $160 apiece.

The standard silver OEM TRD off-road wheels would look great against the silver.

For darker OEM wheels, there are the 2 different TRD Pro wheel options, the limited nightshade wheels, and the 2021 trail wheels.

I really like the ORP wheels on the Limited. I just secured a set for future use as I believe new take offs will be harder to find down the road if Toyota does not include them on the 6th gen. TRD wheels look great also, I just prefer the industrial/every man look of the ORPs.
