I’m 5-10. I could use the nfab fine for stepping in. It was really hard for me to use the step for getting out. I wanted to save wear on my seats from sliding out so that was important to me. I liked the Predators on my Tacoma so, when the became available for the 4Runner, I jumped on them. I did try them first at my dealer. I would still rather the front step be a couple inches farther back but the Predators work pretty well for me. FWIW, I had to flex the nfabs a bit to install. The Predators were flush. My 2 cents from my experience. I’m not a rock crawler so off road damage isn’t a concern for me.

Thanks so much for that input! At 5’9” I’m thinking I may be in the same boat getting out. And the same, I don’t plan on rock crawling so I should be good with the Predator tubes

The Toyota Predators are aluminum also so may look better for longer. Not sure about the brackets, though.

I too looked at ToyTec sliders which are at $799. Seems too expensive.

Now keeping eye on Shrockworks Dimpled Tread Plate Sliders which is only $610 and looks better too (See attached pic). If I get a discount coupon I think a good deal.. I see thread for group buy as well. Def look for these under $600.

Plus does it come out enough to prevent door dings? And how much gap does it has from body. Looks like it almost has no gap (which I like).

Do the predator tubes or Nfabs offer any door ding protection?

Not much protection in my opinion. Good steps, though. Curved rear doors will still get you even with many full running boards.

I’ve been looking at the predator steps for awhile. Had them on my 17 Tacoma and thought they were awesome. I assume they are the same for be 4Runners.

Yes. Exactly my experience. I had them on my ‘17 Tacoma, also, and loved them. When I bought my 4Runner they were not available yet. I tried nFab and another full running board set but returned both. Was going to just go without steps and was pumped to see Toyota finally offering the Predator steps for the 4Runner. They are pricey but I find them very useful as steps, the quality is good and I think they look nice. The fit is perfect. I use the step getting in and out. Saves the seat. Just for clarification, your Tacoma set will not fit your 4Runner. I’m happy with the steps. If you liked them on your Tacoma you’ll like them just as well on your 4Runner. Good luck.

No gap but u can leave a gap if u would like. It does come out enough for no dings on the door.

Just installed the predator tube steps today. I think they look pretty nice. Definitely have a very nice powder coated finish.

These are the N-FAB Black Rock Sliders with removable steps... not "real" sliders but not gonna try and balance my rig on a rock anyway...IMG_0726.jpg

Cool! Are those steps adjustable front to back? I love those wheels, too!

The steps aren't adjustable at all unless you drill new holes which probably compromises the strength a bit.. I really like how the wheels turned out too.

I fixed AeroTread 5" Running Boards to my T4R TRD Offroad. It did not say that is fits 4Runner but I just gave it a try. It was $229.40 at walmart. (Manufacturer Part Number 2061027)

This is a quick video how it looks and timelapse on fixing it. I did not include a detail video as its very simple. Just remove 6 bolts on each side and and fix the running board with the bolts come with it. Stock bolts were 12mm and the bolts come with the running board was 13mm, but fits perfectly.

Could you please post up a couple more shots of the N-fabs? Particularly the gap between the rail and the body. And also detail of the step itself.

It looks like (in general) the steps are $100 each x 4 in addition to $4xx for the rails. Is that accurate?

It was $500 plus install for the rails and 4 steps. The rails wouldn't serve as steps without the detachable steps.

    Awesome photos. Thanks so much!

Autoanything website gave me the impression the steps were extra at $100 each.
