Exactly!! well LunaBell is a Pavement princess, so E rated tires were out of the question. I am running Recon Grapplers, 285/70/R17 116T's they are just under 49lbs apiece, and my TRD's are a just over 20lbs apiece, so right at 70lbs an assembly. As far as the load, a MAC Mizer 1000 box/ chest combo full of hand tools, luggage, coolers, 1000-1300lbs?

 

Yeah, once your tuned, you will quickly see it was a no-brainer. By the 3rd tank you will see what your final efficiency level will be, was my experience.

Matt (@Bobafett) contacted me yesterday with questions about the 10.0 tune for his 2021. After a few texts we set up a time today. He was very happy with the throttle response.
The original date for tuning was 8/22 but he has a nice drive this weekend and requested today.
I was more exited about meeting an avid Star Wars fan…

 

I’m beyond satisfied. If you’re on the fence, do it! If you don’t think you need it, you do! I only drove a short time today but I definitely noticed the increased throttle response and smoothness of the engine. Shifting seems more smooth and stable. I’m excited to see how it goes on my weekend trip.

Matt came in with his 2016 Pro 4Runner. He recently upgraded his tires to Falken WildPeaks and soon found out they really affected his drive. Matt does a lot of highway driving. The WildPeaks are 7lbs heavier each over his stock tires and he could really feel the affects. He contacted me looking for a solution and we set him up with Pro-10.0 with Normal throttle. He came back from his test drive he said it felt better but wanted to see what Sport throttle had to offer. A quick flash to Sport and he was off for a second test drive. Nyssa and Anthony brought me their 2023 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro on this rainy afternoon. Nyssa had been using a Pedal Commander to address the laggy throttle, but her and Anthony wanted a more complete solution to improve the drivability of this truck. Anthony reached out after seeing one of my posts on Facebook, and after realizing I lived only a few minutes away, he set up an appointment to get KDMax tuned!

Nyssa indicated she was accustomed to using the Pedal Commander at its Sport +2 setting, so I started her out on our normal throttle response. She returned from her initial test drive indicating it was definitely improved, but not quite there, so I reflashed the truck to our Sport setting. This was the sweet spot for her driving style!

We do not at this time, and if we do dyno a 4R it won’t be to compare our tune to anyone else’s. We don’t market our product by attempting to out do the others. It’s just not professional. Our tune is not focused on peak numbers anyway. It’s much more about improving the truck’s drivability in everyday conditions, and truly believe we check that box.

That being said, there are reviews from many real-world customers on this thread. The tune really is a considerable improvement to the overall drivability of the 4Runner. I’m sure some of our customers can chime in to verify this. We have no doubt you’ll be impressed with the outcome, should you decide to do business with us! Most tuners even offer a money back guarantee (myself included) minus the VF Tuner licensing fees, which we can’t recover unfortunately. I’ve even offered to let people drive my truck before deciding, although I own a Tacoma, not a 4Runner.

Met up with Jeff this afternoon and tune his 2016 4Runner with the KDMAx Pro with the “Sport” throttle setting. About how much of an MPG gain should I see with this tune for my '23 TRD ORP? Total cost based on what the Tacoma forum post said is $300?

 

Many customers report a 1-2 mpg improvement but not guaranteed. Everyone drives differently, very subjective.
The 2020+ 4Runners are $550.
2010-2019 4Runners/2nd &3rd Gen Tacomas/Tundras $400.
The 2020+ 4Runners cost 10 credits at $17.50/credit. The other vehicles cost 4 credits. This is the reason for price difference.

 

@ToyotFan If you look at the 4Runner I posted a few posts above. I spoke with the owner about three weeks after tuning his 4Runner and he was getting a 2 MPG increase. As the origina post indicated, he’s carrying a lot of extra weight in bumpers, tires, skid plates, etc.
