I agree - it is really weird. I posted a few times about this issue. I have a 2023 Limited that I purchased in Jan. 2023. Have had this issue happen twice - 1st time about a month after I got the vehicle when starting it up in my garage - 2nd time about 3 months after that when starting up after a stop on a road trip. Both times the loud static through the speakers happened when the vehicle was started - and both times I turned off the engine/re-started and the issue went away. It is now ~15 months after the last time it happened - and it has not happened since. A few weeks after it happened the second time I had the vehicle at the Toyota dealer for normal servicing - mentioned it to them and they acted like they never heard of it before and advised me to bring it in when it is doing it. This would be difficult to do as it seems like you would have to drive straight to the dealer while it was doing it without shutting the engine off. It's really strange - I'm trying to understand why it would do it twice within the first 5 months I owned the vehicle - and then never happen again for 15 months?

I've heard of people having strange things happening when they adjust the beep volume level when locking their doors. Sounds like a head unit glitch.

I'm doubling down on my hypothesis that there's something inconsistent or out of spec on the startup sequence. Such things are tricky and time consuming to debug, depending on how hard it is to replicate. Most of the brute force fixes are going to involve delaying sound a bit more.

The static is constant for me (2015 Limited) outside of specific audio settings. If the sound output is moved completely to the rear speakers and volume kept at or below 24 there is no static. Move the volume to 25 and I get static from every speaker. Any sound (incoming call, settings beep, etc) that gets played through other speakers gives the static.

There was a reply earlier about replacing the amplifier but I’m not wanting to spend that much not knowing for sure that’s the issue.

My 2018 started intermittent loud blasting static after adding an LED light bar, only when it was on. It was driving me crazy. After much research I finally added ferrite core chokes on the front camera input wire and the problem stopped. LED lights put off radio waves and can cause radio interference. This info may not help anybody but just thought it was worth sharing.

I wasn’t wanting to pay the full price for a replacement amp but I found a 5th gen limited in a local pull-a-part and grabbed the jbl amp out of it. I replaced the amp in mine and the static is gone.

Just happened to my 24 pro. Turning off the truck and back on fixed it. Still no real diagnosis of why it’s happening huh.

I have a 24' Prius and this static noise is getting ridiculous to me. The noise come on almost every day and even skip the notes when playing the music, like a playing the scratched LP. I had the audio recorded. I am going to take it to the dealership to demand it to be fixed, since the car is still under warranty.
I checked with 3 dealerships and none of the service managers had ever heard of this issue. I believe there is not many people taking the car to the dealership to demand it to be fixed. I am considering calling Toyota HQ. Really not happy with the static noise issue since the car is new.
