CHEAP & GOOD QUALITY don’t usually go together haha

I could put together a cheaper assembly with a cheaper bearing as well. Save now and spend mote later ?

im just giving people the options. i thought you are only selling EXPENSIVE quality parts.

my market is to save people money. so far, my china built assembly is working good on my truck. it should have failed by now if it was not good.

Certainly not as EXPENSIVE as the parts the dealer will sell someone.

I can put together a cheaper assembly for $95 plus shipping

Any ideas to fix this screw up?
I put new assemblies on my front but one of the 4 bolts is either cross threaded or has some debris interfering. I honestly don't think it's crossed because I got it started with just fingers for the first 1/4". It was a little tight, but not so much that I suspected cross. About 1/2 way in it really started to get tight.
I stopped tightening with about 1/8th" left because the bolt head started rounding off.

So, I put everything back together with 3 of the bolts tightened as needed and 1 about 1/8th" out. It drove fine, no signs of issues.

How worried should I be? What options would I have to fix it? Only thing I can think of is to cut the bolt head off and put a nut on.

It's just a daily driver, not an off-roader, so not going to be seeing those forces. But I still don't like the situation.

    Thoughts?

    Sorry for the late reply.

So one of the 4 mounting bolts is FUBAR?

I would not suspect the bolt being cross threaded, I would check the threads in the spindle. Perhaps dirt/debris got in there? You can remove the assembly and chase the threads for safe measures.

I bought a "back-up wheel bearing assembly at Amazon for $108 after I replaced just a WB (that had to be pressed and banged in at the shop). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078JDHQT9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

When you purchase a part for your 4runner, Amazon tells you if it is a exact fit.The one at the link comes with a limited lifetime warrantee - which means they will replace it if it fails - so keep your receipts.

My 2005 SR5 4runner with 150,000 miles right front wheel bearing went bad a year ago and I had a shop with ten car racks and a few good mechanics bang and smash and press a new one on - and it's worked for a year so far.

I purchased the WB Assembly from Amazon for $108 (lifetime warrantee?) because it's a far easier job with WB already pressed in - and I will take it back to that shop again if either my right or left WB fails again, even though it's a far easier job when you buy the WB assembly (4 bolts ... its on).

Usually only a front WB will fail after about 120,000 miles. With Toyota, don't fix until it's broke.

My other three WB are fine at 150,000 miles. Buy the assembly and just bolt on.
Cost is under $100 at Amazon.com : toyota 4runner wheel bearings
Amazon.com: Bodeman - Pair 2 Replacement Front Wheel Hub and Bearing Assemblies for 2003-2009 Nissan 350Z, 2004-2007 Infiniti G35 2WD: Automotive

Pressing in a WB should be left to a professional with the right equipment.

    Hey Folks,
Realise its a old thread, but stumbled in it today. I ordered Dorman Wheel bearing n hub assembly. I got the axle nut off, 4 bolts off, got the cv pushed behind the knuckle n out, but unable to separate the bearing n hub assembly from the knuckle/caliper dust shield...as i read above is it the dust shield thats holding tight, i did try n hammer from the back NO luck. Thanks in advance.

I had to resort to using a flat chisel, slowly working my way around the back of the assembly. Once I started to see some separation it was easy to work my way around with a pry bar.

I have bmw I had to press the bearing out of and got this at Harbor Freight. I had to get some rings and steel plate to make everything fit on the press. Cost about $200 all told but it worked well and I'll have it for the next one that goes.
