I'm new to the forum and 4Runners. I just picked up my 2021 ORP with TRD Pro black rims last Saturday. I replaced the tires with stock size BFG KO2, all black sidewall, load range C. They look absolutely great on this truck. I had good luck with BFG KO's years ago on Chevy S10's. I expect these to be even better.

Not sure if they are rated or not , they performed very well for me, when I needed them the most.

Tires are warranted for x number of miles by the manufacturer, so it wasn't really the certificates that got me prorated refund but the warranty.

I always buy the certificates. It covers free rotation and balancing. And free road hazard replacement.
I’ve used that 4 or 5 times over the years when a tire had sidewall damage or a nail off-tread where it couldn’t reliably be patched.

I remember when each cert was only about $15.

Free rotation and rebalance is covered by the installation charge: https://www.discounttire.com/customer-service/invoice-terms
"Installation includes all labor and parts necessary to install, or remove and replace, a tire. Parts for a new tire may include a TPMS rebuild kit or rubber valve stem, and Life of Tire Maintenance includes Rotation, Rebalance, Tire Flat Repair, Inspection and Air Check.Installation charges may vary based off market and installation complexity."

    Here's what certificates cover:
    "Certificates - Protect Your Purchase
Repair or replacement of your tires due to unforeseen damage-no questions asked. There’s no prorating or disqualification, and no mileage adjustment. 85.3% of customers actually use their Certificates and 97.6% said they would buy them again!
If a tire covered by Certificates fails due to a defect or non-repairable damage, has been in use less than three years from the date of purchase, and still has the legal tread (3/32") remaining, we will refund the full purchase price. You can use your Certificates at any of our 1000+ locations."

Holy cow! What happened to the price of tires?? I bought my Cooper Evolution MTs last Summer for $165 each. Now they are $219! Looks like all the tires are now around $50 more per tire. I've never paid over $200 for a 33" tire.

The rise in fuel cost sure hasn't helped.

Yep, this is correct. I was lucky about a month ago Discount Tire had a sale, I purchased my Bf Goodrich KO 2's 285/70/17 for $225 each everything included.

"It takes about seven gallons of crude oil to make a standard tire - five gallons as feedstock for chemicals that make up synthetic rubber, plus two for the energy required to power the manufacturing process."

DE19ACC5-B7B8-40DD-9B17-E96C25E7CBEC.jpg I have Nitto Ridgegrapplers on my 2021
TRD Pro and I like them quite a bit. They have a great looking tread and sidewall, they ride smooth, and they are pretty quiet for what they are.

The only thing I don’t like about them is the weight. When it’s time for me to change them out, I may go with the Toyo’s as I don’t know any other tire that has the same looks, ride characteristics, and lightweight design…
