Thanks for your feed back . yes sometimes sh*t happens .. post back how Toyota handles this for you .. again as I have posted .. check all the drivetrain fluids for level and condition .. when you get the new diff do not do long drives under 500 miles .. just short runs like 20 miles .. gear oil will get hot and the gear teeth may also crack because this is a breakin period ..drive it easy also first 500miles..

That "World Class" multi-point inspection sounds pretty awesome!

Is a rear diff replacement a pretty straightforward job? Like, is it a job that any dealer can do and probably do a decent job?

I guess what I'm asking is... if the local dealer isn't what you'd consider to be "top notch", should one travel to another dealer farther from home? Or is a diff replacement something that probably isn't gonna be screwed up?

If you can’t trust them with a diff. I wouldn’t trust them with anything. Dealerships should have Toyota certified techs so they should be able to technicaly do them but that doesn’t mean you have to trust them. The dealership here lost my trust with dishonesty, I wouldn’t pay them to change a bulb now. It’s all up to how you feel about the dealer.

Use a flat palm and run across the face of your tires. If there's high spots, criss cross rotate to even them out and do every other rotation
