You would be extremely lucky to get that much off these days.

The 4runner and Highlander are different vehicles. The 4runner is awesome for off-roading and bulletproof. The Highlander will be more comfortable and fuel efficient, more like an AWD sedan. Make sure you look at both before deciding. Unless you're going off-road with it, then the 4runner is best.

I got about $4k off MSRP when I bought my '19 last January. Somewhere around 10% was said to be maximum discount (according to some mystery source on the internet :D), although there are some exceptions. With the current situation, you might not be as lucky.

Just purchased the following 4Runner for $45.6k out the door. 2021 Toyota 4Runner Limited in Blizzard Pearl with the Redwood interior ($48,697 MSRP). Ended up using Costco (use a burner email and google voice to avoid spam) and then working the deal down a bit from there. Sale price breakdown looks like this:
    MSRP: $48,697
    Selling Price: $43,906 (9.8% off pre-rebate)
    Rebate: $1,000
    Purchase price: $42,906

I live in an area with pretty high dealer fees ($799) and 4.15% sales tax on vehicles. So that plus tags/license is where the remaining cost comes from.

I live in NJ and there is plenty of Pearl white and Black.... I am looking for a Blue with Redwood Interior... it like finding a union on this matching color. so I found 1 near me... they won't budge much cause the demand of this color is too high... we were looking at the pearl too, just doesn't work for us. I dont feel like flying to WI and KY to get one...too much driving. I might have to cough up the $$$ to get it. BS!

We were big fans of the Nautical Blue as well. Just doesn't seem like a popular color combo. We were going to go with a Gray with black interior, but they said they would do the white with red for the same price even though it was about $600 more based on MSRP. The fly and drive might be worth it. These 4Runner Limiteds are comfortable, but thirsty beasts.

Maybe just arrange to have it shipped instead? You could use a hard money lending service and pay via wire or something then just refinance it via traditional lending. At least that removes some of the leverage they would have to play games with. I have also heard of people using non-collateralized/secured loans and then refinancing after that.

maybe, if they will sell it for $46k, I am ok with that deal... so I found 2 in my 200 miles radius and one didn't want to move the price at all

Ask if they'll take a deposit on the one you want........the deposit being contingent on you examining the vehicle and test driving it before signing the papers.

This is what I did before flying and buying.

    Hi Folks,
Today I picked up the Nautical Blue Metalic with Redwood Leather w/3rd Row.

I spend pretty much a whole month looking for this... it is like a f**king unicon.

    the sticker is $49,527.
I got it for $47,295... it was a struggle to get this price!!
    put down $30k.
    2.74 Financing.
    Sales tax is $3225.51
    doc fee is $389
    Title, Registration, $427
so left to finance is $21,336.51
which is about $382 a month.

do I like this deal? F**K NO!!!

does my wife love this blue and redwood leather combination... HELL YEAH!!
(hopefully I can pay this off in a year)

If I didn't have a time constraints on selling our old subaru to our niece and busy with my work, I would have fly out some other states... but this will save me a lot of time. (that is something I dont have)

A lot depends on what other options are installed. Right now, there's some kind of 750 dollar discount but then you get the running boards, VIN stickers (what a waste of money) and the door ding strip.

You can deal. Just gotta be firm and don't expect to deal much.

LOL it's fine, no need to beat yourself up over it. It's hardly a rip off. Congrats on the purchase -- espec the unusual color combo! Enjoy, you're gonna love it.

Yeah don't beat yourself up. It is a decent deal. A little over $2200 off isn't that bad these days. My local dealer will only give you the rebates and nothing else. Most people are fine with that as they sell a lot of vehicles.

2021 TRD OR with predator steps and some dealer upgrades.
I also got them to add the trd pro black front and rear bumper covers because I dont care for the silver painted ones that come on the OR.

    $37k otd

Some of you are really shrewd negotiators or your memory is lousy... I just picked up a Venture yesterday. Had to wait two months for it. If I didn’t pay sticker price someone else would have. I got my own financing so I got 1k off and a really nice trade in value on my X5 that was going to need tires soon!

Im happy with the deal I got. The sales guy and the inventory manager were both great to work with.

Bottom line is, not much negotiations going on in SoCal on Ventures (for a Pro expect to pay 5k over sticker, at least).

    good luck!

    2021 SR5 Premium 4x4
    Superwhite w/ beige Softex

No decent used ones in sight.
Only 2 new ones within 100 miles and they're still en route.
Was able to snatch one up. Due to us in a week or so.

    MSRP- $43292.00
    Doc- $699.00
    Tax- $1175.06
    License- $38.75
    Title- $56.00
    Filing- $61.50
    Total- $45322.31

We got her OTD for $40K even. Not a phenomenal deal but a decent one. Especially since you can't find them anywhere nearby.

$40k OTD would mean you got the price down to about $38k + taxes/fees. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me!

Orlando Toyota has 2021 SR5 Premium 4X4s in stock advertised for $39,800, which is $2,600 below MSRP. I pushed pretty hard, but they weren't budging on that price. In the end they gave me $1,500 more than I was expecting on my beat up high mileage 2013 G37. So in my mind I could say that I got the truck for $38,300. But even still I would've had to get the price under $37,000 to get out the door at $40,000.

You just pointed out some great alternatives to vehicle pricing. Let's say you want 5 grand off of the car. If the price of the car dropped by 5k, you'd be happy. But if the sales manager won't budge more than a couple grand, would they do more on your trade? Or offer an accessory or service? Or pickup your first payment?
