How long at the port?

Just got a phone call with an update this morning. It made it into freight status and estimated to arrive at dealer between 9/27 and 10/4.

It’s just going from Portland to East Idaho so I can’t imagine it would take on the longer end of that.

 

Dealer days mine arrived at port in NY 9/3/21. It was supposed to be at the dealership on 9/15/21, that's now pushed to 9/20-9/27. I want to know how to track it at port. I'm such a geek!

 

You can only track it through your salesperson/dealer. Ask them

 

I put down my deposit in early august, was scheduled for delivery in around 6 weeks (so, now). Heard from dealer today- she’s currently sitting at the LA port that is currently locked down so no idea how long it’ll be from here lol. Congrats to all who got theirs already!

 

Maybe you guys could help me? My lease is up in February for my Tundra, but I can extend it another 6 months so it'll officially be up in August. If I want a 2022 black trd pro, realistically when should I put a deposit down before my lease is up in August?

 

Earlier posts on this thread show people tracking the ship their T4R at port. I searched but too many ships going into NY between 9/2 and current date.

 

You can track it when its out at sea by searching for the vessel. Once it has arrived at port in the US you have to get updates from your dealer (port status, freight status, ground status, etc)

 

The problem is that next year could be a totally different market with the chip shortage and whatever else happens. This year most trucks delivered in August were manufactured in early July. The farther from a port, the longer it could take for shipping.

You should ask the dealer when you should put your deposit down. Their lists could be more backed up next year.

Mine arrived in port on Aug 19th. I was told it hit Freight status on Sept. 24th, so just over 5 weeks if that is accurate. It is supposed to arrive in St. Louis on the 29th. We shall see!

 

Your salesperson should have the name of the vessel your vehicle is on. From there, just use the Internet to track.

 

Our 4runners were on the same boat. My dealer told me on the 21st that it was already in freight status. Would get to the rail yard on October 3rd. Then to the dealer in St. Louis the 5-11th. My original timeline was it supposed to arrive the first week of September but after two weeks had passed I called them to get an update and that was what I was told. Hopefully it gets here sooner

 

Interesting. Could be mine just said the 24th so as not to admit he was not checking daily. I was giving him a call/message every Monday. I too was originally supposed to be getting mine early Sept. We shall see who gets theirs first, good luck!

 

Very long story. Frustration was 4 weeks ago, now I am looney laughing about it.
Decided to get a new Tacoma. Wait wait wait. I changed my mind, now I want a 4Runner. This all happened before the first week of August. I put a down payment on a vehicle which was due to arrive between 08/30 and 09/01. On Sept. 5 I call to find the status. "What 4Runner?" Says the dealership. It turns out it did arrive on Sept. 1, they put it out on the lot (You know, because nobody had put a down payment on an incredibly hard to find vehicle.) and sold it within 24 hours.
"We will make this right." Says the dealership. Okay, what does that mean? "It means we will find you another vehicle." Brilliant, so you will do the absolute minimum? "Yes." 5 days later they find another 4Runner through a trade with another dealer. "We found you another, but it is a 2022 and will cost you more. (3K more) It has stuff on it. And no discount below MSRP." Brilliant! We transfer the down payment to that one.
In the middle of this debacle I get a call from somebody I didn't know at the dealership and they say, "Your vehicle has arrived and you can pick it up tomorrow." What?! What kind of mind f*ckery is this, I say? There was a typo on the stock # and they had the wrong email/address/info attached to a different vehicle which is why mine did not have my info attached and was sold.
I got an email 2 days ago saying mine has arrived in port and they have put a rush order attached to it, along with a spec sheet for a 4Runner. It is the incorrect vehicle. Again? I call. They assure me everything is in order and send me the correct spec sheet.
The port is only 10 miles from the dealership in Portland so you can imagine my anxiety levels are fairly elevated. Fingers crossed, wish me luck. I just need a little luck and for somebody somewhere to do their job correctly. For once.

I will keep you posted on the arrival dates.

Full timeline was:

Placed Deposit on TRD Off Road that they had in the Pipeline going to a different dealer 7/12

Built 7/31.

Loaded on the Sakura Leader 8/19.

Sakura Leader Arrived in Portland 9/1 or 9/2

Freight Status 9/16

Arrival at Dealer 9/29

Congrats! That seems super quick in today's climate! Really wish mine would've come through Portland too!

Wooo! Got the call yesterday that the 4Runner is in, picking up on Friday

 

You guys are pretty lucky here. I got a call yesterday-mine is still on the RORO sitting in port. It has been sitting there since Sept. 18. Evidently a lack of longshoremen to unload the RORO. It's 10 miles away and I'm dying.

 

New 4Runner owner here- previously had Jeeps but made the switch. I put a deposit down on a 2022 Limited and here's my timeline so far:

-9/15/21: Deposit
-9/18/21: Arrived at port in LA (port installed options: running boards, mudguards, roof rack cross bars)
-10/6/21: Left port on train to Chicago. Will be transferred to truck in Chicago.

Destination: Cincinnati. Dealer says estimated date arrival to dealership between 11/1-11/8. Hoping it won't take the whole month but we will see!

Mine has been at the LA port for quite some time and the dealership isn’t even trying to give me an estimated time for delivery lol. They’re trying to sell me a ‘22 lunar rock sport instead. I say nahhhhh lol I hope you’re gets there soon!

The only port installed accessory was all weather floor mats.

 

Damn! 60 days to process it at the port and add mats!?

 

Ours hit the Portland port on 10/6 as well
