How long at the port?

I now have one in the pipeline. How are you guys "checking the status" of your incoming 4Runners?

I wish lol! That would make things waaayyy easier hahaha! I always feel bad bugging the dealership guy but they understand and they want to complete the sale so all good!

how are you guys able to see fuel levels and stuff? i have the toyota app and my vin added, but have not started my trial to the entune services yet.

 

It didn’t show up until it arrived at the port AND they began to process it for shipment. That was roughly one week prior to it hitting freight status.

 

My app just started showing odometer and fuel readings today, plus getting notifications that there are multiple alerts on the vehicle - funny since they say check the app, but can't seem to find out what the alerts are for. Fits timeline though - dealership in TN supposed to take delivery 7-12 Dec and the car is in Portland.

 

ah must be the notifs you get on the entune. don't have them on the ORPs so i guess i will stop looking at the app for notifs lol

 

Not familiar with entune - I only have the Toyota app that I'm using with my (soon) Off Road Pro - don't know if itll be something I use much, but did read that people were able to get some notifications while waiting =- really is kind of like the "Where's Waldo" game

 

sorry, entune is the old lingo for the toyota app. remote start, safety connect, service connect, etc. forgot they rebranded the name not too long ago.

i'm going on 3 weeks at the port now, patiently waiting. was hoping for delivery by thanksgiving but i will have to shift my expectations to before christmas!

 

Sounds about where mine is at - supposedly got into port on 11/4, now 11/17 (only 2.5 weeks) through Portland, so yours may be any time now

 

Yep….mine updated yesterday morning leading me to believe that it is about to go to ground transport here shortly,

 

Guessing they do it by rail? Portland to Tennessee by any other method doesn't seem to be a good choice - truck too limited, figure train to at least Chicago, but maybe Memphis or Nashville or in between.

My GX is finally at the dealership as of yesterday afternoon.

It was at the Long Beach port for almost 2 months. It then made the trip from there via rail to Kansas City in 35 hours. From there it got to Omaha via truck in 6 hours and the PDI was done in 2 hours.

It was built on 8/31 and I'm hoping to be able to pick it up tomorrow or Monday.

The Toyota/Lexus app is excellent for stalking your vehicle once it reaches the railhead at the port as it updates the vehicles GPS location every time it's started and then shut off. The odometer and fuel levels are also updated at the same time plus the tire pressures.

Once tire pressures are lowered to the door sticker pressures the PDI has been completed at the dealership. Mine went from 48/49 PSI down to 36 PSI.

 

Which part of the app tells you where it is? My app started showing fuel and odometer yesterday (Portland as far as I know - via Dealership rep). How did you find the rest of the details?

You have to call and get the 6-digit code to activate the Remote Connect part of the application. I'm not sure why they allow you to do this when the vehicle status isn't set to "Delivered to Customer", however, Lexus does so I'm guessing Toyota does as well...ymmv.

 

Interesting - especially since technically you haven't finalized the purchase
I went through to the point where it emailed me the code, but had to be in the vehicle to activate - might try calling (just for giggles)

 

Yeah it really shouldn't be possible but it was in my case at least.

I suppose they'll just kick you off of the vehicle if you can't finalize the purchase.

ETA: The door/window status values didn't start showing up until the PDI was completed. It did show the Trip A and Trip B values as well as the Last Parked Location right away after activating Remote Connect

 

Hopefully your deal is secure. A friend put 1K down on a Lime Rush Pro and was told there is a 5K "market adjustment" on all Pros with AutoNation now. Went from 1-5K two weeks ago.

Yes we had this discussion last week lol…… I think it’s secure but only time will tell! I have faith in my dude, I specifically asked him about this after you mentioned this last week and he said there is a markup on the pros but it’s not super large.

 

Had an exchange with them yesterday that was less than confidence inspiring. My guy talked about some examples of double dealing and surprises for customers at time of pick up. Fingers crossed for you.

 

For shame. Such weird times we live in these days. It’ll all work out as it’s meant to! My current lease is almost up so one way or another, I’ve got an upgrade ahead of me lol. Not gonna stress right now… I don’t even have an allocation yet lol.
