I agree with these points.
Long travel shocks are a must if you're lifting over 3" imo. Gotta earn that flex back somehow.

Not just for offroad capability either. Topping out the shocks during normal driving around town will happen with the setup mentioned above. This shortens shock life significantly and also rides like shit.



Pair this with some bigger tires and you have a very capable rig that is still comfortable on the streets.

 

They also allow for total death traps and moronic brodozers!

Frankly, I wish we had regular safety testing of vehicles.

I have no desire to be injured or killed by some moron who barely has a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of who operates a death trap because they have more or less nothing to lose.

 

regular inspections is just a tax on the law abiding if the consequence of non-compliance is insignificant.

In my area we have to pay high registration cost and smog check any gas car newer than 1975 and diesels newer than 1997, but tons of cars spew smoke and look like deathtraps, and cops don't bother pulling them or anyone with out of date registration/no plate over because the stats may be less than equitable.

 

Reminds me of this fellow I've been watching on occasion, his build is a serious endeavor!
