I do not know if I have the latest version and I don’t know what the latest version is. I have a plug and play kit with the OBD connection harness.

I cut the green wire to the BSM light last night and added a 220 Ohm resistor. That stopped it.

I used a multimeter at the lowest DC volt setting to see if I could figure out which wire was which (I was assuming the black was negative, I still am overall convinced it is). BUT, with the red lead on the green wire side, it kept showing a negative voltage (meaning my red lead is on the negative side). Doesn't matter which side the resistor goes anyway, I just preferred the ground side.

I cut the wire, added these really fancy wire connectors to each side so I can try different resistors. I started with my smallest valued one (10 ohm) and that debatably made it brighter. Went to the next one (100 ohm) and it was dimmer, but still flickering. Went to my next one (220 ohm) and light went out. When I go to ACC and it does it's system check, both lights are on full brightness. I even went to the BSM settings and changed the brightness a few times and both lights are matched.

Didn't take photos because I forgot, but I have no problem popping the panel off again and taking photos. It's the wife's car and she left for work. I didn't tell her I did this to see if she notices lol, which is why I was rushing last night to put it back together.

There is a small, two wire connectors that is clipped into the back of the mirror. You pop it out of it's holding clips and then separate the connectors. The vehicle side has a green wire with a I think a yellow stripe and a black wire with I think a dark blue stripe (do not quote me on the stripe colors, I wasn't paying close enough attention). The BSM light side, those wires turn blue and black. If you move the mirror so you can see the wires that feed to the BSM LED, you should be able to follow them up to the connector. The only thing I had to take off was the outside mirror panel and the connector from it's holding clip. No other removal necessary.

2022 Limited for reference. Has all the fancy multi terrain monitoring cameras/parking the SUV in lines correctly view

Adding the resistor fixed the flickering or cuts off the BSM sensor light completely?

I need to redesign my work apparently lol.

When I drove it around last night, it was perfectly fine. It stopped the flickering, but it worked as advertised on the street.

Wife got to work (30-40min commute) and texted me that she got BSM warning that came and went. I'm assuming as the voltage fluctuated while it was sending it to the light and back, the resistor changed the feedback signal too much and the module got mad.

My next plan is to interrupt the signal with a relay. A little 12V single pole single throw relay will work just fine. I'll wire it so the ACC signal activates the inductor on the relay, which pulls the switch to the NO or Normally Open side, and then the circuit will be completed as normal. This will not increase the resistance on the circuit a significant amount and the module will probably be fine with it. When the ACC signal is cut off, the inductor will lose power, the switch will go to the NC or Normally Closed side, which will be an open circuit and interrupt the light. I should have done that first, but I have like 100,000 resistors so I figured I'd do that. The relay is definitely better, no current draw when the system is off.

I'll take photos this time and add a link for anyone that wants to do it. Super annoying that I have to modify and product that is already a modification.

I could test out other resistor values instead, but this would work better.

Sorry I jumped the gun a little on my post

I also got pissed off by KTJO 4x4 and purchased the Cartrimhome model instead out of spite.

I DESPISE that the CRH model prioritizes lock/unlock over the button being pressed.

When we go camping and the 4Runner is stationed in position for a while, I like folding the mirrors in and I'd expect them to stay folded as I lock and unlock the car, but they don't. So, the button will be pressed in and they will unfold with the unlock signal. Super annoying and very dumb in my opinion.

Years ago (like 2015), I build a module for my 2011 Tundra that has a power folding mirrors so they would fold with the lock signal and unfold with the unlock signal, but they would NOT do that if I folded them via the button. That design I've since taken out just because it needed a lot of work and I never ended up doing it again haha.

So I am working on a module to work in conjunction with the CRH module so that button being pressed will in fact override their module.
