LOL, you really bought the wrong vehicle. Also, are you in high school?

Alternatively invest all your money in a massive subwoofer and a better sound system. Roll down all the windows, drive real slow and blast gangsta hip hop that drops a lot of F-bombs. Everyone will get out of your way. I guarantee it.

Imho, in today’s world, keeping a low profile is better than being conspicuous. ;)

So when your out on the road you think it belongs to you, and no one else needs to be there, sounds like some kind of entitlement issues to me.

I posted this story on another thread way back but you might be interested.
I had a friend who did some crazy things, once he mounted one of those big train air horns on top of his tow truck. I don’t remember what he used for the air source but holy shit! When he let that thing go, it sounded just like a freight train was about to run you over. Probably not street legal but I’d be willing to bet that if you set it off, cars within a 3 block radius would stop in their tracks. ;)

While my musical tastes decidedly do not put an emphasis on the low end, I keep on finding myself looking at car audio. Simply, this is the worst OEM system of any vehicle I have owned since high school. The Nakamichi setup in my old 100 Series utterly slays what is in my Venture.

Thats a bit excessive to me. First, I wouldn't know how to install it! LOL

But more importantly, the vehicle is still under warranty, and I wouldn't want to do anything to void it.

I had a Wrangler Rubicon for 8 years. It was a piece of shit. Needed a motor rebuild at 14K miles! It was garbage, and yet somehow, I still miss it.

I will purchase a rebuilt, older model at some point... something with an LS swap already completed.

But this is about my 4Runner which I expect to own for the next 10-15 years.

    No... I'm retired.

And I purchased the right vehicle because I wanted something that would take care of me if I take care of it.

I don't understand why Toyota wouldn't make a V8 available in this truck... at least in the Premium and Pro models.

Wow... getting political. That took longer than I expected. Dude, I'm just trying to enjoy my truck. I'm not interest woke BS.

No... no entitlement issues here. Its a safety issue.

When you have people behind the wheel that think its ok to change lanes and cut you off just because their blinker is on, greater presence seems necessary.

Although I personally find Harley’s annoyingly loud, it’s probably a good safety factor. The exhaust noise can alert drivers in their immediate area

Not really, Lane splitting is legal here, and those obnoxiously loud fart pipes do not alert you to the presence of a motorcycle, only religiously checking the mirrors to make sure you don’t smash them while they are lane splitting seems to work. Also, they are not always reliably detected by lane change assist.

Unfortunately a 1" likely wont do much in regards to making people get out of your way, but it will level things out . If I'm understanding what you're looking for, in all seriousness, I think you would want to look into a 2.5-3" lift and some AT tires. However, this may be steering away from your actual needs, but at the end of the day it will be you driving the car so to each his own, and drive safe out there.

I don't think anything about the word "entitlement" is political in this context.

As far as being cut off, people also have no fear cutting off loaded tractor trailers, so if they're not scared of an 80,000 lb vehicle with a stopping distance measured in football fields, they're probably not going to be intimidated by a midsize SUV, haha.

Maybe a ARB front bumper or similar will help give the desired effect.

Steel rear bumper with spare tire and gas can attached. Big front bumper with bull bar. Big roof rack with attached RTT. Lots of external lights. Your gas mileage will suffer but you will be noticed.

Or just be a defensive driver and not be an obnoxious butt pipe on the road. Sounds easier, and you can maintain your current MPG.

When you find something to put on your truck that will fix that, get a bunch made and you will be instantly wealthy. You don’t want it louder, brighter, lifted, don’t want to void your warranty. Sounds like what you really need is to just leave it in the garage and stay home.

My concern with anything over 1" lift is body articulation. Don't parts such as drive shafts need to be replaced for the extra hight and body articulation?

    1. I am a conservative driver.

    2. Why does wanting a greater presence on the road make me a "butt pipe"?
