Gobi rack delays

Just got the call. My rack is getting delivered tomorrow. Exactly 26 weeks after confirming my order with Gobi. Multi-light Stealth rack, no sunroof.

 

A 26 week lead time seems unacceptable... at what point does a company expand to the meet the needs of demand. I have to imagine they lose a measurable amount of business by people getting scared off due to lead time.

 

When did you get the payment call? I got mine last Tuesday but haven’t gotten the delivery call

 

It sounds like the 4 months that they are currently quoting may be off by a few months.

 

Never got a call for processing the payment, just an email back in 1/12 confirming my card had been charged.

 

i was told that since they don't keep CC info, they had to call me to charge me. so seems like ~ 13days from billing to shipping call. thanks

 

They definitely kept my CC info for the past 6 months...

okay guys... delay is over. i got the call today. rack will be delivered tomorrow

From and including: Wednesday, August 19, 2020
To and including: Wednesday, January 27, 2021

Result: 162 days
It is 162 days from the start date to the end date, end date included.

Or 5 months, 9 days including the end date.

 

I ordered my rack in October. So guess I’m looking at a March eta. I was told should be 16 weeks since I paid retail (no gb price). Not sure I believe that.

Are the racks being delivered to our houses or do you have to pick up at a freight warehouse?

 

I paid retail price too and still waited more then the recommended 16weeks. But my order included the backpack and shocks. But I got an email saying those are back ordered

they will deliver to your house. They told me between 8am and noon.

 

I got the same deal also with the free backpack and hatch struts. Of all things those are back ordered? Lol Do you know who they use to ship?

 

Man so glad to see a thread about this.
I just bought my first 4Runner and was looking into Gobi. I’m still in the air, the quality is badass it looks like bud 5+ months is a stretch.


I was looking at

which is only 4-6 weeks. I just wish there was a hybrid of Wescott and Gobi. That tubular finish is what’s badass.

 

They use Ryan’s express

 

wescott is a nice rack. But I like tubular design of gobi as well. Besides, I already have the ladder. To be honest, I’d rather wait 5mo and get the rack I really want then settle for someone that is ready now.

 

It arrived. Box on pallet 101” x 54” x 11”

Given the lead time, I think you could immediately list that for an arm and part of a leg with an overnight delivery.

 

10/10 would easily pay 2g+ to cut out build time and get it ASAP lol

Did you get the backpack deal with yours? I'm impressed with the quality of it!

 

i got the get away backpack, travel kit and and the gas spring set. But I was told before my rack arrived that these items were back ordered

 

I should have ordered two and then sold one.

 

I do now have two ladders. One has been on my truck almost a year and the other is NIB

 

How much are you going to try selling it for?

I'm getting a ladder with my order but won't be putting it on.......so it will go up for sale.

 

well, i got the first ladder to fit on my trd pro rack. this weekend i want to compare the differences between a standard ladder. not sure if the ladder is different or the upper bracket. then i'll sell he trd pro rack and one of the ladders i'll probably sell it for retail + instant ladder fee
