Gobi rack delays

I have a 5th gen Stealth, no sun roof, Multi light with heavy duty shocks and the free back pack for sale.

Just received from my November order. Wife doesn't want a roof rack on her 4runner.

So if anyone doesn't want to wait. I have not opened the box. I live in the bay area. Pick up only. You'll need a truck. Big box. PM me.

Has anybody gotten their backpack from that Gobi promotion last year? My rack was delivered months ago but still no backpack.

 

I’ll let you know in 5 months 1 day 14 hours and 36 minutes. Not that I’m counting the days lol

I actually use my little satchel thing for all my accessories for my awning, spikes, light, guy wires. So it's somewhat useful.

 

i plan to use the small bag for bathroom items for traveling. Back pack also for traveling

 

Can the lettering on the fairing be removed or the fairing reversed ? I didn’t think to ask them not to put the gobi logo on it when I ordered and I’ve heard changing anything after the confirmation can add time to your lead

 

Yes just turn it around. Both sides are powder coated but one side has the gobi sticker. I may turn mine around some day

 

I just peeled the sticker off.

Best to do it right when you get it....... before sun exposure starts fading the faring and leaving a dark mark under the sticker.

 

Ok I didn’t know it was a sticker. That’s good to know.

 

I inquired about lead time to try and plan with the delivery of my inbound Pro. Well I guess I don’t need to worry about which arrives first as the Pro should be here in September, but I was told 24-28 weeks on the rack. I’m gonna wait a couple of months before I order then so it doesn’t show up in the dead of winter.

 

I have a new still in box Stealth model, no sunroof, light bar setup w/cross bars, hardware, ladder, struts, backpack, and a used Stealth model, no sunroof, multi light setup w/cross bars, hardware. How long did it takes since they shipped until you got it? Mine was shipped last Friday, I'm in massachusetts, I was wondering how long it would take me to get it here

 

I got mine a month or 2 after, I did end up calling them(but I was trying to talk them into giving me delta hooks instead of the backpack )

 

Mine was clean and the sticker was in the parts bag

 

That was gonna be my game too, see if I could get some of the other accessories instead of adding to the backpack collection.

Got another stupid question. I was watching a YouTube video last night and one guy was mentioning his gobi and said his max tracks don’t fit side to side between the rails. Is that true. Something I didn’t even think about but now I’m curious.

I Finally got my rack last Thursday July/22, it was shipped from Gobi on Friday July/16. In case anyone is wondering I ordered through Off Road Alliance (Which sucks because I handle pretty much everything by my own) on February/17 2020, and after a dozen calls to Gobi I got them to speed the delivery from September to July. I ordered the rack and also a Roof tent from 23Zero on the same week and they both offer a 12 to 16 weeks for delivery and I got the tent on May/20 (at least they did honor their word) here is some picks on how it looks

 

was it worth the wait ?

 

100%!! Fits perfectly, well powder coated, I looked thought the welding joints and everything looks well made, carries up to 800lbs which is perfectly for was I looking for... Also I enjoy the looks that provides

 

Did you really order it on Feb 2020 or was that a typo and it was supposed to be Feb 2021. I hope it was not the latter as I ordered mine, the exact same multi light stealth rack, on New Years 2020 and still have nothing...

 

I'm sorry I meant Feb/17 2021 but you should call they answer the phone and they are really nice over the phone...
me and my wife kept calling right at week 16 on the wait saying that we have a trip planned and paid and that's how we got two month of improvement on the delivery. They jumped from 12 to 16 weeks (What they said on February) to September when I called on week 16 of waiting

 

I spoke with them a few weeks ago, they told me August but they also said it would be sixteen weeks and April has long past. I don't think I could every buy or recommend anything Gobi ever again.
