Some people are just jealous. They don’t understand hard work pays off and just take their anger out on other peoples blessings.

You so right about this. One time an acquaintance said to me, your lucky to have nice things; I said, "the harder I work the luckier I get".

As my college professor told me….nothing worthwhile in life comes easy………….at least it should not anyway in my opinion

Obviously not everyone thinks that way.

This reminds me of something I read a few months ago.

It was about when people say "it must be nice.."

They don't ever consider what it took to get there. Working overtime, weekends, cancelling plans, whatever it took.

Usually when someone is doing well, it's because they did more than the bare minimum.

And then, they get treated like assholes by folks who are just drifting through life waiting for their luck to change.

It's just funny how that works.

Yeah safelite assured me that the window replacement is factory and has the wires (I thought they were heating elements too)….
And I’ve got more cameras ordered to cover front of driveway and some other blind spots ..

im tending to lean more towards the neighbors grandson.. spoke to a neighbor down the road who’s in the reserves for the sheriffs department about the incident and seems the grandson has had some recent run ins….

I can’t prove anything but I’m gonna be covered with cameras if anything else happens.. plus I’ll be parking in the garage from now on…

this is my first new vehicle in a decade and I actually picked it out vs the last one my ex wife had to have, so this really chapped my rear..

Anyway I’ll let everyone know how the replacement goes once it’s in the shop on Monday..

My neighbor recently put up cameras with the auto lights. Fortunately no incidents on my block but with the current environment areas getting hit around here.

I am thinking of putting up a sign in my window saying “Smile you’re on camera”
as the neighbors cameras cover my yard also.

My best friend Storm, my shotgun & .45 takes care of all undesirable critters. I had a break-in attempt in the night some years ago, intruder broke the window, tried to get in. The problem was taken care of way before the police arrived. Way too old for that sh*t.

Well got the window replaced by safelite today.. turned out not to be an actual Toyota branded window but it matches the tint of the others..

yeah more cameras are supposed to be delivered this week..

I had a German Shepard until she passed last year due to old age and yes she would have turned said vandals into hamburger if they were caught in the yard. Might be a good excuse to get another German Shepard or a rotty…

Glad you got the window fixed buddy and that it came out well. How was your experience with Safelite.

I had a small shop by me independent place and I guess they got bought out my Safelite now I saw this weekend.

Hopefully you and none of us have any more issues. I think we all have enough on our plates one way or another.

I hope you get to enjoy the new ride now and really enjoy it.

the shop I went to I’ve used in the past on a windshield (hit some ducks with my old pathfinder) and once again they were professional and courteous and they let me go into their shop area to watch them do the repairs since I was concerned about the repair on a brand new vehicle..

I would recommend this safelite shop for anyone with glass issues .

Good to hear the window is done. I had two German Shepard's before my Bouviers, excellent animals, they take care of uninvited trash and are the best alarm system you can have. Hope they stay away from your property & your 4R.

Some asshole decided mine looked like a trash can today, I guess. I couldn't really tell what it was. My best guess is yogurt. A school bus runs past every morning, so I wonder if some little prick threw it out the window. :notsure:

At least I'll be done parking there pretty soon.

I have a lot of cameras at my place, motion detection, proximity alarms, etc. I have over $150K worth of brand new cars and bikes in my driveway and garage..but a determined shit bag could get them. It's just a shitty fact of life. Glad it didn't cost too much to replace and there was no damage to the body.

Why do you have a shotgun and a .45? Dog seems more than enough. Like x 1,000.

Nothing wrong with having a variety. I plan on owning at least 5-6 guns eventually, hopefully more. :)

But, my dog isn't much of an attack dog. As brave as he is, he's only about 20#. :D

Well, yes, Storm did some major damage to the intruder, I had to call the dog off. Then a gun becomes a safety measure till the police arrives. When the intruder broke the window and the alarm went off, Storm was already there, in the darkness you don't even see him, he is very stealthy. I trained him with a Shutzhund 1 & II graduation, his lineage is from a working line, so, about 14 months of work to get him there. He is a great trooper when I go off-road or on trips, he is cautious, nevertheless, friendly to people if they are not posing a threat.

A visitor got checked, he loves the ladies, not so much males. :)

I keep a highly trained attack dog as well.

    This is Apollo.

If you come into my house unwelcome, he will do terrible things to you. You'll be covered in Husky Glitter (that's a kind way to say dog hair..this bastard sheds all year) and slobber. He will also force you to take him outside so he can run around the yard like a maniac.

Fear this dog, for he is a terror!

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
After seeing all the "fun" in MN last year - police stations burning, riots, etc. I did some looking into riot proof glass for my house and vehicles. Seems window tint actually offers a little bit of protection against smashed windows.

3M sells a vehicle security window film. It aint bullet proof but it's a little better than nothing.

This will protect you & your 4R, if you are in a war zone. Besides bullet proof glass, electric door handles available for your 4R, to shock the hell out intruders. Lol.

My wife and I got married and moved away from our home state with no connections to the one we moved to. Never had help or got anything for free from family or friends. We use the "it must be nice" phrase a good amount because we watch coworkers and friends get free stuff from family all the time, like inheritances, or a house or large tract of land. Things like that can propel your life forward by light years compared to starting from scratch, no matter how hard of a worker you are. We don't begrudge anyone for it, and we're sincerely happy for them, but IMO it is a valid use of the phrase.

    I agree. But...

Did you read my post? I sure wasn't talking about people who have gotten through life living on freebies.

I was referring to the type of people who coast through life doing the bare minimum, then have an attitude towards those who have worked their asses off to afford nice things.

Just because someone is doing well doesn't mean they've had help. Some people start out with nothing and become extremely successful due to their own hard work.
