I saw a purple 5th gen….only thing was it wasn’t the shade of purple I like. It was a light-pinkish purple. I would have liked it in a much darker shade, like midnight purple metallic. That would have been a real head turner. Again, one might argue that “beauty is really in the eyes of the beholder.” Come to think of it, maybe it was wrapped.

I definitely understand why people like the grille. I decided to be original and keep the OR grille, though. :D

I considered a hood swap, because I don't really love the skewp, but I never went through with it.

I've seen people swap in the PRO suspension, but I didn't realize people were putting the standard suspension on the PROs.

Must have struck a chord with someone. I don't believe the moderators read through all of the comments, so much as people report them and the mods take them down. As best I can tell, you can say anything you want here as long as nobody reports it.

I've always been a modder. Mostly sorts cars and money went into engine and performance instead of looks. But performance mods on the 4R is useless and not worth the money. So got ta makes it looks good.

I did do the heritage grill ( thinking of going another direction) when i do the raptor lights.

I agree, the only performance mod I’d do is the Magnuson Supercharger. I don’t think that’s specific to any 4runner trim. I won’t be adding SC badges though lol!

Back in the Day I had an E46 M3 (2004). I debadged it since that was a thing back then.

And rightly so! You come into MY campsite (that I paid for) and, unless you are the KOA owner, tell me to leave, there WILL be issues! People like you ARE ruining this community!

Not a swap in that sense. I meant SR5s & OR (without KDSS) swapping in the Fox Pro suspension, not the other way around.

Ahh, yes. That makes more sense. I believe someone with KDSS was looking at swapping in the PRO Fox setup awhile back, too.

Not sure what that would take, as there is a reason they don't put KDSS on the Pro model...

Yeah, it's because it's a little harder to change the front coilover assembly. Too much work for the guys who slap on the Fox shocks at port, I guess.

They probably didn't put it on the PRO model because they knew they could save money by not putting it on the PRO model, is my best guess.

Don't worry, the other day I saw an older RAV4 plastered in Tacoma and TRD badges. Wish I could have snagged a pic but I was driving.

I had a Captain America emblem on one of my other 4Runners. No one ever accused me of claiming I was Captain America. Who cares what people put on their trucks? TRD is a Toyota branding, and maybe I’m going to make a wild claim here, but doesn’t the racing development department help engineer better high performance parts that Toyota uses across its brand? No one has to “earn” anyone’s approval before slapping a flipping TRD sticker on their Toyota.

I have a 2WD (2runner if you will), i should put pro badges on my mine since i have the heritage grill already. Would really piss em off, lol.

I think the ones that get mad are the ones that spent the money and see others doing the same look for less. And getting mad that they paid that much. Lol.

The only thing is see it being a problem if someone sells it as a pro. Like when buying a numbers matching 68 Chevelle, but it's a pieced together one.

But my opinion isn't worth much, maybe $0.01

Saw a WRX with an STi wing once, turned out someone buying the STi didn’t want the wing so the dealer just swapped for him. Some teenager probably enjoyed the flashy wing.

Middle son’s best friend was gifted an old Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. He went to Autozone or O’Reilly’s and bought a 4x4 sticker and put it on his truck. Some time later, middle son’s phone was blowing up at dinner one night. Apparently, they were looking for his friend Cody-one of the friend’s car was stuck out by a canal and they needed Cody to pull them out. Middle son says I’m not answering anyone, Cody can tell them he doesn’t have four wheel drive!

    Up-badging can have its downside…

I was getting new tires at my local Mavis and in a bay was a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat -- or so it seemed from the exterior badging, hood scoop and trim kit .....under the hood was a 3.6L V-6.... why???

Dang! I'm usually one for no badging . Actually thinking of taking off the heritage grill badging. Everyone knows it's a Toyota by now. LOL.

Same! I often think a Sienna would actually be better in most cases. I wanted offroading to be part of my 4Runner use, but I seldom get a chance to. 4x4 trails are hours away, meanwhile I can hit the trail on my MTB five minutes down the road.

I have an TRD ORP. I actually de badged it. I wanted KDSS and the murdered out look so i did add the pro grille, valences, and hood scoop. FN Wheels not Pro Wheels. Wider and lighter. Not trying to look like a TRD Pro. This is MY Pro. Who cares what you do to it? Do you love it? Put a Ford badge on it for all I care. Go out and hit a trail. Have fun before you die. Haha.

That's it, I'm taking off my trd pro badges and replacing them with trail rated on one side & hellcat on the other. Then I'm taking the T O off the front so it becomes a YOTA.:D

you do honestly have to admit the hybrid badges do look pretty damn cool. With the blue hazy outline.

we have them on our venza.
