Finally finished my 3/1 lift on my 2021 4 runner limited!

Final MOD to finish De-Chroming. Going to color match Vinyl wrap the front chrome bumper, 2 front Chrome fog light housings, and upper Grille trim piece. Should be done in 2 days and will post finished result. I will say removing the entire front bumper so i could detatch the chrome pieces took a few more steps on my 2021 limited than the YouTube SR5/Pro etc models. Still simple though

 

Got all the chrome wrapped, next is re-install.

@4Runner007 - a question on the 3/1 lift - don't you lose 3" of down travel on the front shocks due to them being extended by the spacer?

 

you've inspired me to go with the white out/color matched front end look on the limited and keep the 20's on AT's (at least for the next set of tires!).

just wondering what brand of wrap you went with for the pearl white if you dont mind sharing. cheers!

 

oh and how did you color match the door handles? paint or wrap?

 

We did a travel test at the 4x4 shop and the 3” lift only lost me 1.2” of travel.

 

As far as the vinyl wrap, after 4 orders i found a perfect match with the avery dennison gloss white pearl vinyl wrap | sw900-109-s. Matches perfectly

 

My next Mod is going to be the TRD Pro Garnish. Im going to have one made for the limited (Smaller than all the ones on the market for other models), and then im going to wrap the black garnish with the white pearl Vinyl to match the body and have black TOYOTA lettering. Going to look great I think

 

Cartrim home has one for the limited. Someone here posted pictures a while back. I was looking at the pieces to black out all the chrome and do a silver nightshade edition.

The “B1” is for gray. Replace that with C0, C1, or C2 for the black versions. I was going to replace all the chrome on my wife’s vehicle with the gray versions so compiled that list. I don’t recall if it had the rear bumper chrome trim though.I also don’t think it had the rocker panel chrome trim because neither of our vehicles have those anymore

 

The trim pieces all come off somewhat easy. You have to remove the rear bumper to get to the rear one’s clips, but the 2 front corner trims i was able to take off by pulling back the plastic wheel well. You could wrap or have them painted. I wrapped all my trim initially and then decided to have them painted and clear coated black.

 

The paint shop charged me $150 for the front, rear and side trims and i had a guy wrap the front grille pieces which was $200. Not bad

 

I have removed and wrapped all my chrome myself for about $80. I’ve removed and painted all my wife’s chrome. I was just supplying part numbers if Harris wanted to get OEM pieces. After our recent winter trip, the front wrapped chrome on mine has started chipping from rocks and road debris being thrown up so I will probably replace with the OEM painted parts. My wife’s will probably get converted to an SR5 bumper so she will get color matched door handles and such

 

Yea. Thats what i am worried about with the vinyl. I just planned on re wrapping parts as needed for that stuff.

 

Looks like the new TRD sport front end parts are the same which gives us that color wheel for parts

Thanks for the list and pricing. I bought silver thinking the chrome wouldn’t bother me as bad but I can’t leave anything alone. See how goid a limited looks when you tweak a few items doesn’t help either.

I just bought my 2016 Black Limited. I want to remove the Limited rocker panels and black out the chrome. Where did you get your Trail rocker panels? The only ones I see are from ShrockWorks or direct from Toyota.

 

I went with the factory ones from toyota.

 

Think it was around $600 at the end with the panels, mud flaps, and clips

First let me say your Limited is really awesome. I have (actually the wife's car I drive a TRD Tundra) a stock 2021 Limited 4wd and I removed the unusable side steps thinking I would install the AMP power steps for her. AMP says no for the Limited due to the trim package. Do you have the part #'s for the factory trim you used from toyota?
