Falken Wildpeak at4w?

    I'm at 41k (bought them when I was at ~500miles) and they will not last another rotation. I have stock size but did not get alignment when I got them and apparently that was a mistake. The wear is indicative of that. They have also gotten pretty loud on the freeway. Now to figure out what to go with next. The at4 or something else....

    I just ordered the at4s for my Tacoma, I have 2 sets of duratracs but am tired of the noise. We put at3s on my wife’s 4 runner with new wheels and I can’t believe how much quieter they are than the Goodyears..

    I bought the at4

    Love them compared to the ko2's I had before.

    I have stock size 265/70/17 and they rub when backing up and the wheel is turned hard right.

    May have to grind off some of the fender to avoid this. But it's not too bad.

    The ko2 did not rub.

    But I prefer the at4's

    I have had the AT3W LT 275/70R17 C load for about 27,000 miles now.
    I've gone from initial tread depth of 18/32 to 15/32 IN those 27,000 miles. (15.1/32 is where the K02 started at for tread depth.)
    About 1,000 of those miles have been spent wheeling. (wish it could have been more)
    I drive a lot with all the windows down in state parks, have no trouble hearing birds, deer jumping, that sort of thing with them down. on tight turns there is the expected grippy noise, but no "drone" that would come with a super chunky MT.

    I just bought the 5th tire as a spare and I noticed that the Part number from AT3W to AT4W is unchanged. I think it will function very similarly, the added 5,000 miles to the warranty speaks to an expected more durable compound than the AT3W, but perhaps that will come at a slight sacrifice to stickiness/traction. but I think the changes will likely be hard to detect.

    If you are considering the Falkens, you are probably wanting the best All Terrain performance you can get out of them. For me one of the biggest selling points was that 18/32 of tread depth, but there some in that lineup with 13/32 and I just don't think those would provide good off-road traction for a very long time.

    I also have better than 25K miles on my AT 3's they ride well and show little wear.

    The only downside I see about the AT4Ws is the increase in weight of what was already one of the heavier tires out there of this type.

    I just mounted a pair of 265/70r17 AT4Ws (previously had the stock tire that comes with the SR5 premium). Great so far. Very quiet, great traction in the rain. More aggressive sidewall than the AT3W. Have yet to do any off-roading but no complaints so far

    The set of at3's that are on have 48,xxx miles on them. Wear is very good and the road noise is not an issue. Expect 60,000 minimum out of them. I'll be getting at4's when the time comes.

    This. I was between the AT4Ws and Toyo Open Country RT Trails. I wanted 275/70/17 for the added sidewall and true 32s. AT4Ws had C load available, but THE OCs RT Trails only E load. To my surprise the AT4Ws in C load were HEAVIER than the RT Trails in E load?!?!. No idea why, but it is true. Check DT website. Went with the Toyos and they have been great. Did not feel any significant decrease in comfort ride, have a stronger tire and lighter.
