I am scared there is Frame damage because the steering wheel dropped down when the front end made impact

No one on a forum is going to be able to give you the answers only your insurance company can provide.

Let us know what they say.

I’m sure that has something to do with the wheel hitting the concrete. I don’t think it’s totaled,

My co-worker did this same thing a few months ago but in a Chevy Traverse, same corner of the vehicle even. Think it was 13k damage, the age and miles on her SUV were similar as well but of course a Traverse isn't worth what a 4Runner is. Even still, insurance fixed it instead of totaling. Looks brand new now even to my OCD eyes.

Traverse is unibody not body on frame so that may be the real difference in cost of damage but her crash bar was bent in the same, door wouldn't open, part of unibody had to be pulled, needed to be towed etc. Carbon copy of this here.

Either way, sorry it happened OP.

Welcome. Looks repairable and not totaled. A body shop will be able to tell if there is frame damage.

Like everyone said, it’s impossible to tell from a forum pic. But, having said that, if you were going less than 10 mph it’s not likely that you bent the frame.

    Probably 10-12k in damage.

the fender is probably just pushed back against the door, binding

Our insurance totaled this one because they said something about firewall welds. Originally, they said 8k and then revised the amount when they got in there. I wish you luck.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
I don’t think he hurt the door, it’s just that the fender got pushed back enough to interfere with the door opening.

That was our 2015 Trail and had about 86k if I remember correctly. I bought my 2022 ORP with some of the insurance money as down payment.

I still wonder if the repair place pulled a fast one, but insurance paid more than I thought they would.

Its not totaled. I had an expedition that slid off the road and side swiped a tree on the passenger door at over 55mph, over $12,000 in damages covered. Almost bent the frame, and you definitely didn't do that.

Bumper cover, crash bar, fender, headlight. I've replaced those parts and more on my Tacoma in my driveway as upgrades.

It doesn't look like your radiator support (part of the body) or your frame is damaged.

The fender is basically tinfoil and bends really easily. That's causing interference with your door. I bought my fender on Partify pre-painted and had it shipped to my door. The fender was lighter than the bubblewrap...

I see your passenger tire/wheel is turned towards the right. Is your other tire pointed in the same direction? Just wondering if the hit might have damaged tie rods, lower control arm, or the frame where the control arms mount. Try not to worry about something that has already happened. If you have insurance, hopefully they can get you a loaner to at least have your transportation needs met. After that, the insurance will take care of it. If it’s totaled, well…you have insurance to take care of it financially. As cool as the 4runner there are more important things in life :)

First off I'm sorry you are dealing with this. :(

If they do not total it, see if you can get a diminished value claim as now you will show an accident on the vehicle history report.

You shouldn't be worried about the repairs/damaged parts, that's what insurance is for. Use a reputable shop and request OEM parts. In the unlikely event that it is totalled, in this market, you would have the upper hand with insurance issuing a check. Values have been extremely high.

"Totaled" is an insurance term -- it doesn't mean irreparable. Anything can be repaired, it's just a question of cost vs. value of vehicle.

Call your insurance company and see what they say. If you don't have insurance get a quote from a body shop.

That damage wont be enough to total this 4R. Do you want it fixed (Looks like upwards of 10K) or do you prefer total value replacement? After you answer those for yourself you can talk to your insurance adjuster. Keep in mind that your premium likely to go up if there is a claim (total replacement value or repair) since it was a single vehicle accident. No win situation for you. I'm sorry. On the bright side, you can upgrade to TRD Pro grill and bumper at little cost difference between your trim and PRO. G.L.

Probably a little bit. Unfortunately, most of the impact was on the corner. I think if I had hit it dead center, I would have been better off.

    bone stock for now
I can't post photos right now but they will fix up 80% of the value at this time in the used car market. Just take it to a good shop and they will fix it good as new. It will be OK. My wife was hit and ran by a Ford F550 in June and we just got out Runner back on Nov 3rd. The business was found and paid over 16 grand for the repair alone..We had a rental car for 4 months and that cost them a lot of money as well.

I don't think he hurt the door either, but if the impact has pushed the fender it means other things that will add to total repair costs.

No. Did airbags go off? That's what totals a lot depending on year. They make tank parts still. I totaled a couple 3rd gens and got more than I paid for both of them and over 250k just because they were really clean and taken care of. They are priced by mileage more than year on used ones. I take it 4runner gave before concrete did. They won't tell you but you can get a devaluation amount on some vehicles because a wrecks car is worth less. Probably not a 4runner though. Used car values are so high if it was totaled, it will be on a lot rebuilt somewhere because they know that they can sell it to someone. Ford and GM dealer I noticed are buying and selling 4runners and Tacomas to sell. Strange when Chevy dealer only has used Toyotas and they sell first. They don't have any Fords or General Motors hardly at all. Even Subway dealer sells used Toyota before Subaru.

Use Toyota parts or pay difference to get. Aftermarket headlight assembly won't be same quality. A deer cost insurance about $1600 and door actuator went out and they paid for it to. I paid about $200 difference for Toyota parts. I don't like Chinese parts on my Japanese vehicle. If someone else paying to fix I would demand Toyota parts.

Just tell them to replace it with one like it if they want cut your throat. Someone else's insurance, I would consult council and maybe for your insurance too. I doubt they will because it is a 4runner, but educate yourself a little bit before you agree to anything you're not happy with and let them know you know.
