Yea, I know people that take unregulated supplements, all on the recommendation of a friend, without doing any research at all. Definitely not my thing. My Son has had gut Issues for years. Doesn't drink or do drugs, but he has low iron and trouble with his colon, bleeding sometimes. He has done years of research and been to numerous doctors who just wanted prescribe pharm drugs. So they were basically no help. He has started to get a handle on it with certain foods and dropping the others that cause him issues. But it's exhausting.

I'm sorry to hear that, hope he finds a combination that works.

I've never been a fan of prescription drugs or even OTC drugs in pill form (I won't take advil or tylenol unless I feel it's absolutely necessary). I think American's are over prescribed and too reliant on drugs but I'm not a doctor so what do I know. My opinion's just another butthole... or whatever the saying

Unfortunately I rely on Advil too much. I've been able to reduce that in the last year.
I cut out the pound of sugar I was eating every day and that has helped with the inflammation. Honey in my coffee, a lot less snacks and cookies. Processed sugar is almost as bad as tobacco in the long term health category. At 60 yrs old I needed to grow up and face some facts.

You don't even need to suggest a drug to your doctor anymore.

Big pharma reps have already visited your private doctor and worked out a deal where your doctor gets a percentage of every prescription they prescribe.

*Not all doctors are this unethical, but it's absolutely happening and should be illegal.

A friend sent me a very nicely produced video with a green-hatted grandfatherly man talking in very kind voice about wanting to make America healthy again. Then his tone turned a bit dark and ominous and basically said that they are going to take down the corrupt FDA. I suspect the video was timed for release after the election in order to communicate what will be happening in the new administration.

Seems like there are other topics online where there has been an unexpected resurgence of interest along political party lines. Like some sort of xAI project, and space travel. It’s probably all related to political messaging.

The big multi hospital administrations pressure doctors under contract to use the pharm and AMA procedural guidelines. I mentioned the non disclosure agreements earlier, I'm sure that's the case when under the employment of the big admins. If the doctors do push back, there are repercussions. Discredited, disbarred, etc. I have a feeling there will be quite a few class action suits in the future. Once the cork has popped, I think we will all be surprised how bad the health industry has gotten. We all know how bad health insurance has gotten.
However, not to be a complete cynic,
I firmly believe there is a large percentage of good doctors, surgeons, and specialists out there. My parents in their mid 80s have been blessed with good insurance, doctors and health care systems. My Father is good at navigating the insurance systems as well, so that helps a lot.
But, there are many other demographics and special interests at play all the time, so not everyone is as fortunate as my folks.

    thanks for this.
I’m like the only dude I know who heard this news. the reasons this ingredient was selected are not an isolated incident. 100% there’s other active ingredients in over the counter & prescription drugs that are bunk.

    let me ask everyone.
ever taken Cold FX? literally at the first sign of a cold. has it ever helped whatsoever?
^ another drug that’s already been proven bunk

I still can't keep up with this (maybe because it is targeted at a different type of person, who doesn't have knowledge of the industry). Are people upset these drugs are getting axed, or are they upset that the companies have been allowed to sell ineffective drugs for so long?

If it's the latter, then the argument and the proposed solution don't agree: eliminating the FDA and NIH would inevitably lead to tons and tons of drugs being sold that are ineffective, unsafe, or both.

It’s messaging for plans that will be put into play. It’s basically a political shakeup. And since it’s politics, it just means different people will be making money at the end of the day.

Hopefully in the end, the baby won’t get thrown out with the bathwater, and the new scheme will still actually have a goal of regulating with the interest of public safety at heart.

I'm sure some people aren't happy about the effective ingredients being removed.
Imo the pharm is already operating at will without enough restriction. Our society is so conditioned to get a script for a damn hang nail, and the marketing machine is partly to blame for that.

Its ridiculous how much the pharm funds literature and advertising that you see. They also heavily influence medical policies in the big health care systems. What conditions are allowed coverage and what treatments are allowed with certain meds. There are already too many questionable prescription drugs on the market, that I believe the FDA lost control years ago. The pharm are BIG donors to med schools and research facilities, so they perpetuate their policy control on the system going forward.

Sell em a crappy diet, alcohol and Netflix with a walmart right around the corner. Then give em a pill to fix all their ailments. It's a great business model. I just don't believe any of them have my best interest at heart. But, luckily for now, I am in control of my own health decisions, and I will be leary of all this. And right on cue, a "wegovy" ad is listing its side effects as I finish my post. SMFH.

Remember good old Vicks Vaporub on your chest when you were sick as a kid?

    Or the Vicks nose inhalers?

If you put some Bengay on your chest before the vicks, it will help the Vicks sink into your pores a lot quicker and you'll be breathing clearer in a few minutes. Stinks like hell, but it works.
