Nicely done! I have to echo 4Runner fun's sentiment: Clean and unique.
Crawl Control is pretty damn cool, but not the end all in drive train options. If you ever feel you need one you can add a locker and use the ATRAC to help the front diff with low traction situations. I went with the ARB air locker, as I wanted a compressor anyway to air the tires up after a day off road. If you get enough copy cats, Toyota might offer an LE PRO one day. They love their appearance pkgs.

Mainly this is my daily driver and some off road mountain bike hauler. One day If I off-road to the point I need a locker I may do that. For now it’s mainly a mall crawler

Very nice. Hows the hydrophobic coating act? Like rain-x that sheets away or diffrent?

Good question. I just installed it Saturday and it has not rained since. I’ll take a hose to it tonight and see what happens.

To be honest, I don’t see any difference between regular mirrors vs the hydrophobic ones. When It rains, I see droplets of water on the mirrors.

Awesome. Luckily it only rains a few times a year in the Bay Area... one of the reasons I’m hoping to get that job and move over. However I’ve been told that climate change is resulting in much more rain than usual lately.

rain seems about the same, perhaps a little bit more each year. Still mainly sunny all year round.

Oops I guess I forgot to mention the lift in this build thread. I removed the xreas and replaced it with 2018 TRD pro Bilstein and Cornfed 2/1.5 leveling. I plan to do an adjustable lift one day, but I found this TRD set for a good price less then 5000 miles.

i never driven this suspension without the spacers, but i have a few friends with the 2015 - 2018 pro with same suspension. i've driven there stock PRO and they drove my limited with the bilstein + cornfed and we all believe it rides the the same as any 2015-2018 pro. its stiffer then sr5, trdor and limited. but it's the trd pro stiffness which i was after.

Great build thread so far! I'm glad I came across this thread because this is literally what I have been thinking about doing. The limited's around here seem to be going for the same price as the SR5's. I was wondering how difficult the parts swap would be to make it into a pro-like build. Was it direct replacement or where there any behind the bumper supports that need to be bought to go along with it? not going to lie, the creature comforts are a big draw for me this time around...

all the parts were plug and play. i purchased the SR5/TRD bumper support bar used. all the guys who did a slim metal bumper or full metal bumper will remove that from their truck. so you'll see many for sale. pricing and creature features is the one of the reasons i opted for a limited vs a trd. but main reason was for the blizzard pearl color.

That's great news! I was curious as to how many extra parts it would take to make it so it would bolt up correctly. How different is the rear bumper are there any gains clearance wise or is it just a styling difference?

attached is an excel spreadsheet which compares the limited vs the sr5/trd bumpers. as for clearence, you'll gain ~ 2" in the front and rear bumpers :)

I'm still in the shopping stage at the moment. Been looking for a limited with a 3rd row in my price range and miles but it's been slim pickings. I'm looking at SR5 premiums as a second choice but it's not the same but has a whole set of other plus and minus.

so I see you got oem UCA's with your Pro kit, is the limited UCA different for Xreas suspension? Or was that just part of the package?

afaik the UCA are all the same. The xreas only affected the shocks and springs. But I plan to get after market uca so I can get more out of my alignments.

turns out all these JBA UCA’s have a slight defect as the boot does not seat all the way. The fix is two washers rather then one. So I’ll wait for JBA to send me another set of washers before i get these installed. It’s okay, the malls are closed .. so no rush :)
