Glad to hear you're getting fixed up! If you need some help around town I live in Collierville and would be happy to assist. I'm unfortunately getting good at working on 3rd Gen suspensions thanks to @mem4runner :/ ha!

 

over 8k in cost so far....but worth it. heck, trying to find a similar 3rd, is virtually impossible...lol

 

outstanding....might do that....she'll be done on friday...or NLT monday...been a hard month of being in 4runner limbo. as insurance was all too eager to total her out...snakes !

as the debate raged on..about fixing or having her totaled....there was NO shortage of people...wanting to buy my damaged 4runner..had over a dozen offers..etc

EXACTLY....but i searched the tri-state area for a similar 4runner...and the pickens were slim-ola...a few in nice shape were going for the 10-20k range...saw a couple of beat to heck models selling around 3k..so I decided to repair mine...as i know what I have with mine...

 

she's slowly taking shape...back from the dead...

 

here's some additional pics taken ..as she's being put back whole...besides front clip, bumper, etc...some suspension being replaced..

 

Looking better than it was, that's for certain!

Can't wait to see her on the road, or better, nice and dirty, muddy, etc, OFF the road!

I have to say, I've never heard the term 'bump shop'...

 

guess that's a olde YANKEE slang..' bump shop '.....and yeah, my lawyer has been ordered to rape Allstate. He's a sleazy guy as lawyers go...and that's the type of lawyer I wanna go to war with....anyhow, I'll be picking it up next week...I'll post pics of my 4runner.

 

Skeletor is the name of my chihuahua...and is the alpha dog of mixture of 5 other dogs...hence 'Team SKELETOR '.....

 

yup...can't wait to pick her up next week...then split for Nashville, and then some off road adventures there..i'm happy that it's being repaired..instead of going to the scrap yard, to have it's carcass picked clean....

very true...from the accident, I had my 4 runner towed to my home...until I could figure out what direction to go...and I had over a dozen offers from people...and two junk yards contacted me...as they were very keen to obtain my damaged vehicle to either repair it, or part it out..being a parts goldmine...lucky for me, I decided to repair her out of my pocket, then I'll go after the helping hands at allstate to get reimburse.....

Dropped my rig off at The Hub this morning for some quotes and saw your Fiero there, @mousemeat

 

yup....got some minor odds and ends to be taken care of...I've used the HUB for my vehicles ( Fiero / Solstice / 4Runner / Trooper since they first opened...eons ago...

 

my '97 4Runner is finally home. 4 weeks repair...biggest hold up was suspension parts, with Toyota sending the wrong parts and having to re order...eventually, they got it right. final bill was around $9,000...As soon as my coolPix battery re charges, and it quits raining, I'll post picts of her...now...and before....next stop, court....as I'll be going after All State..helping hands, my arse !

on a sad note, saw a very nice 2002 4runner..at the collision shop..with what appears to be some minor damage..probably the front bumper will need to be replaced..other than that, it's clean..and looks great...and Progressive estimator / agent has TOTALED the 4runner...WTF.

 

No way a clean 4runner is worth less than the cost of a bumper. I wonder what insurance uses to value these 4runners, they seem to total them for anything. They aren't looking at used prices, that is for sure.

 

I'll swing by the shop on tues..and if that 2002 is still there, I'll take a pict, and post it...and you can see for yourself...crazy to total it....

 

as promised...here's my '97...finally back from oblivion...looks wonderful ...rides actually better..now...as the shop replace and re did suspension on passenger side...all new Toyota and after market OEM parts..damn, it's like a 'new' 4runner...and I'm so happy that it did NOT go to the bone yard to be crushed...plenty O'life left in her..big fan of Gen 3's...
