This is a bit too frequent imo.

Air filtration? High silicon can be due to sealants used in a new engine, not dirt from air af far as I know.

Wow you changed at 250 miles? There is a significant difference in copper levels from mine at 1500.

It most definitely comes from dust. Put a K&N air filter on and watch the silicon go up (don't actually unless you want your piston rings to die). I will pull a sample from my obs Ford that has one soon and send it in with my newest 4Runner sample

I paid for oil & filter change at 1,500 miles at dealer. I provided a clear plastic wide mouth jar and requested first catch out of drain plug. And had them bag the filter element. A view of element showed a few tiny shiny specs.
The oil was black and opaque! I poured it into plastic bottle and put on shelf. A few months later I poured it into a 5 quart collection jug for waste drop off. Wow -thick black sediment was on bottom of bottle and the settled oil had gained almost no transparency.

    ^This right here.
You're describing me except I wasn't that old yet when I started. Sold my '86 4Runner with 250,000 miles on the 22-re and going strong. I put all kinds of oil through that thing. Dino, syn, different weights, you name it. Just nothing sketchy like from Walgreens or the grocery store. At the time 3k OCI was the norm and it always got done. Probably even the gas wasn't always that great. We didn't even have the damn Internet then so we didn't dwell on all this stuff.

I was referring to a new engine. How do you explain silicon levels going down as the engine breaks in? Otherwise yeah, a properly broken in engine should not have high silicon lest ineadequate air filtration.

Outside of making my own oil change, where do YOU believer is the best place to have my oil changed? Do quickie oil change places even possess the tools and correct oil to change the oil and filter in my 5th gen 4Runner?
Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!

I would not trust quick oil change places. Find a local mechanic that you can trust and work with him if you cannot do it yourself.

That's silicone. Silicon is one of the most common elements in the earth's crust which is where dirt comes from. You will absolutely see higher silicon/silica with a K&N than stock.

**relax. somebody started an oil thread and I just can't help myself. Absolutely do what ya want. It's all true though.
