Tell me about your health care system, do you feel it is just?
I've always been interested in how it perceived by someone who lives there.
Seems like a good system, but I have no experience with it so I wanted to ask.

Haha, they don’t like political digressions on here, for good reason, sometimes they bring out the worst in us! But, truly, jackbauer1 no Canadian, and I mean not 1 Canadian would ever give up their health care. Is it perfect, no. But it’s close. Sure you hear stories about wait times, etc. but it happens, and without personal financial transaction. You just go to your doctor, there are no forms to fill out, you just make an appointment. The most complicated procedure is done by some of the best of the best practitioners in the world, and you just show up and they do it.
You guys could have the best public health system in the world and give everyone in the US coverage for the amount of money you spend on your private system. Easily. But I understand it will never happen. Too bad.

 

Thanks for the first hand insight. Yeah, nothing is perfect, unreasonable to expect such. Sounds like a good system.
