Appreciate the response. I have a Tacoma with bilsteins (5160/6112 combo) that I love. I had the Eibach pro lift that I got for a major steal back in 2019 that were ok but had this clunk that I was chasing. Swapped to the bilsteins and couldn’t be happier. I’m trying to do a little more research before I throw anything on it. Love the look of your truck, exactly what I’m looking for stance wise.

I don't do any regular off-roading, but do get off the pavement in the winter for some backcountry skiing. That said, this setup makes a lot of sense for a lot of people. I didn't want to reuse the factory front springs, so once I considered adding the cost of springs along with 5100s for the front, upgrading to 6112s really started to make sense. Aesthetically, I felt like the 1.75" lift with the 5100s also wasn't quite enough and didn't want to add a spacer to make up the difference. 1/4" is really darn close to split hairs, but I'm very picky with a truck's stance and my cargo area sits empty 99% of the time. It's obviously a personal preference and I'm not here to knock anyone who loves their 1.75/1" setup — just wanted to emphasize how happy I am with it. Glad you like it and thanks again for the compliment.

Here’s my take, just installed the 5100 set to 1.75 with stock springs. Rear is still stock, but I’ll put the rear 5100s and 1” cornfed spacer tomorrow after work. I’m debating if I want to bump the fronts to the highest setting but I’ll wait to see how it all settles after a couple days. Anyone else running the 5100s with stock springs set to 2” lift with 1” rear spacers?

On a side note if anyone is local in NorCal and needs help adjust or wanting to lift, I can do it all with the proper tools

Where tire would catch lower edge of front bumper while turning and hitting the driveway just right. Tires already removed paint so I blended that area just enough. With the lift it slightly still hit but not as loud of hit gouging into the bumper edge. But this should clear just fine now. (Yes, I went higher up to give it a blended shave rather than an obvious trim I’ve seen on others)

Just got the 1" rear spacers in, whew. Has anyone driven around like this for a while before upgrading the rear shocks? Seems like they'd be a trivial task to replace.

Measures 21.5" on the front driver's side, 22" at the other three--I expected a little more rake.

All done added the rear cornfed spacers and the bilstein rear shocks. I don’t know why some say it’s too stiff but we all have different comfort levels. Purposely drive over turn about curves and it’s smooth. Pot holes and rough roads great. Braking nose dive and squishy feels all gone. Great setup. I don’t have the drivers side lean but I’ll check on level ground in a couple days. My driveway is sloped so here it is parked both ways. And an additional view

I went with C rated. No need for anything more for what the 4Runner will see. I should’ve weighed them. I think the new setup weighs less than the original setup!

They're on the way; I'll at least have some time on the fronts only so I can make an informed comparison.

Then we'll see how long I can hold out before upsizing the tires.

285/70 Wildpeak SL. The rear 5100s were worth it--corners tighter and nose dive under braking was further reduced.

Wonder if the unsettled feeling over high speed bumps is due to the panhard bar angle, or is that even a thing with a 1" rear lift? This has been the only noticable drawback (besides fuel economy).

Eventually I may get Dobinsons or similar especially as I add weight. I'll rethink the front shocks at that time but for now I'm quite happy with the suspension. Could see going a little higher too.

    Nicely done, great to see!
Good to know, and can you please elaborate on what the unsettled feeling over high speed bumps feels like.

I have 5100's on all four corners, plus lift OME lift springs and ICON coils. But I have not installed anything for any angle correction, except for diff drop kit. Thx

Hard to define but it's probably just an artifact of a stiffer shock. There's more side to side motion and a slight bump steer, while the softer stock shocks soaked up the bumps like an old Caddy.

i’ve noticed load range E tires tend to make this worse.

load C’s are much more well behaved over rough roads IMO

    Interesting. I've got SLs though!

Perhaps I just do away with the the preload and spacers. Any suggestions for springs? Adding around 100lbs up front anyway, plus I need a bit more rake for cargo.

How many miles do you have on your truck? Mine too started feeling a bit more "unsettled" right at 2 wks after I installed mine. Ive got 90K and im thinking its bc of old coils with new firm shocks. I put Dobinsons on my Tacoma and what a massive difference in ride quality with 5100's. Ill be doing the same with this!

Put Dobinsons 302 2.5” coils on 5100 @ lowest clip & Ironman light load 1.5” rears

These made up my mind. I’m going with .85 up front and no lift in back. I’m running stock size Terra Grappler G2’s so it should look pretty good.

Bilstein 5100’s just in front. .85

2022 SR5. 5100’s front only set at .85. Rear is stock for now. I’m doing the back next month. Pretty happy with how it turned out! Stock tire size. Nitto Terra Grappler G2’s!
