Now a question for members in other states. Does your 4Runner meet California emissions? It's simple to check. Pop the hood and look at the sticker. If it says California emissions certified the this is a big win for those of us here in CA looking for the best deal on a new car.

You can buy out of state and bring it back to ca. I live in socal and helped my friend buy a 2021 from Camelback toyota in Phoenix a few months ago before the s hit the fan. It was a huge pain in the aas because of the usual misinformed person at the ca dmv but she was able to get it resolved and it is registered here in ca

Keep in mind 2022 is most likely the last year of the 5th gen 4runner and unless we hit a recession (which is a good chance) prices will probably still be high since the demand will be there. It can taper off since gas prices are sky rocketing in socal

I hear you Pavo!! I almost always have to escalate to a manager at the DMV. I will say this is refreshing to know that Toyotas are all 50 state legal. Times sure have changed over the years. I appreciate Moon Landing pointing out the regulations on the books.

I'm still not very hopeful for currently getting a 4Runner under MSRP anywhere in the US. At least you can get more choices of models though.

The vast majority (if not all from the major brands) of vehicles sold in the US today are 50 state certified. You still have to deal with DMV, MSO/MCO and whatnot, but it can definitely be done. I bought a Lexus in April from a dealer in California and had it shipped to me in Oregon. Overall, the process was reasonably smooth, but there's definitely more to it than buying in state.

in Fort Myers FL. Getting oil changed on my 2020 SR5 Tacoma LB with 15,000 miles two weeks ago. Manager I deal with said he would give me more than I paid last year for the Taco on a 2021 4runner. He said used prices were crazy and questioned by anyone would buy used. So they offered $32.5 for trade and I paid $28.8 when purchased (plus tax, tag, etc). Runner SR5 price was $37,440 and reduced $1,699.90. so, $35,740 minus the trade plus the other crap and $4,578 put me in the runner. Had to wait two weeks for the runner, came into Jacksonville then car carrier to Fort Myers.

    agree 100%
the best route I follow is always be ready to walk away. If you don't like the deal don't make it. Huge difference in dealers by location with attitude and pricing
    thanks for the comment.
