Watch a few of my crash course videos lol. A-Trac and KDSS are my favorite features of my rig. I have a Jeep video(Fellow wheeler's Jeep) in comparison too that I can upload for you where Jeep's mad flex did it without any tools whatsoever.

Just wondering Why the Japanese engineer from Toyota/Lexus told the test driver to “NOT USE CENTER OR REAR LOCKER” and just let the ATRAC work and do its job an the GX managed the terrain without a hitch.

A-Trac works like two lockers(front and rear) emgaged. Watch my video Front locker Vs. A-Trac, where front locker fails because one rear wheel is also spinning. A-Trac takes care of both axles and the truck walks right up. A-Trac is plenty, most mild to moderate wheelers won't miss the rear locker. A-Trac is extremely potent

The new A-Trac is not noisy I think. But I like my noisy A-Trac, it is a satisfying noise. I love it when A-Trac gets me unstuck. I love that noise lol

If you are refering to me than please know that I threw a front locker there during the regear process. It cost me just the part with 30% discount so why not? I didn't need it, I have said it multiple times here. A-Trac has not disappointed me even once all these months. I air down my MTs, switch to 4Lo, engage A-Trac and I am good to go. Spend more time with A-Trac, you will be amazed how potent it is.

Look, lockers are better, nobody in their right mine will argue that. But, A-Trac is all most of us need. Good beefy aired down tires, good clearance and A-Trac are all most of us need. Hardcore offroaders are in minority lol.

Because they wanted to highlight the technology. ATRAC is a feature, but it's not the same as a locker. It's like gas and diesel. If the engineer said, put gas in it and see how well it runs, it doesn't mean it's better than a diesel engine. It's just different. Or, if a 4R had snow tires and he said watch how well they hook up in snow. Doesn't mean they do well in mud.

You're correct. I don't generally care for Youtubers. Get enough followers and suddenly you're an expert. It's a good way to get bad advice if you're inexperienced.

The OP joined yesterday and started a thread asking about A-TRAC and lockers, claiming to be new to off-roading and seeking advice from more experienced members. Then, argues with every answer he doesn't like, citing the same YouTube channel 3 times.

Why ask a question if you've already decided that you know the answer?

It's a groomed course so ATRAC will work fine and they want to show it off.

The ones that just voice over a video are obviously the experts, not the ones doing the actual activity.

I didn’t start this thread because I had “already made up my mind”. Again I came here for everyone’s opinion. I saw a bunch of stuff on you tube and read a lot of stuff. Nothing is 100% right all the time and can vary depending on the circumstances and also by the vehicles everyone is driving and I respect that. You all have much more experience than I do which is ZERO! I wanted to be prepared and not just go out there and get stuck and tear up my truck. The more knowledge you have from your own or others real life experiences the better you’ll be prepared for all the situations you’ll encounter. I’ve learned that you learn more from your mistakes than what you learn when you think you’re right all the time. So starting this thread was not with sinister intent. It was for me to learn! Sorry if I touched some nerves.

People are just responding, it's not dramatic or nerve-touching. Nothing emotional.

Here’s to show I’m not biased and had not already made up my mind on ATRAC and lockers. So after seeing this latest video and seeing what they did I see that lockers and ATRAC can be used in various combinations to get you out of all sorts of conditions with various vehicles. It’s not an all or none but you can use all the tools you have so I’m learning a lot with this forum and I appreciate all the input. I’ll post the video now
