The G4 might have one the high proof blind tasting, but Tapatio 110 is the still the king of margaritas.

Just got back from Total wine, i am still chasing the Fortaleza dream. I didn’t want it to be a useless trip so i pick these up. It was the last bottle of the G4 of any variety, I can’t believe how popular Tequila has gotten.

What Fortalezas are you looking for? I have a couple extra bottles of Still Strength Forty Six, blanco, and repo that are duplicate Lot numbers. I’ve been trying to find some local people to trade like bottles of different Lots with to fill in some blanks, but I haven’t had much luck.

To tell you the truth I was just trying to try any of them just to see what it’s all about. I have heard nothing but great reviews so you know, it’s just kinda teasing me. I think i will try the G4 Blanco this evening.

Thank you for the kind offer, but i will wait. I understand our grounds keeper went to Mexico, so maybe he will score something for me. I have been looking this brand over lately, do you happen to have any info. On it? My understanding is it’s supposed to be pretty good with no additives.

El Tequileno makes some good stuff and some passable stuff. For example “mixtos” are cheap tequila that are at least 51% agave and the other 49% percent can be made from any type of fermentable sugars - often time cane sugar or high fructose corn syrup. You get the alcohol content but you dilute the agave to point of all but losing it on the palate. Generally speaking mixtos are trash (think José Cuervo Gold Especial). The one mixto that seems to get a pass is El Tequileno - they use 71% agave and 29% unrefined Mexican cane sugar. It’s still quality made, slightly under proof, sweet without additives, and inexpensive because it’s a mixto.

I’ve personally stayed away with the exception of the trying the reposado rare, which was very good.

That looks like a FAST intake manifold! I generally hate LS swap Toyotas, but I make exceptions for trophy trucks.

I sometimes feel like I'm catching on to tequila at a bad time! Maybe I should focus on rum before that becomes popular and expensive. o_O

I used to think I didn't like red wine. But, I recently learned that I don't like cheap red wine. :D

Funny thing has been happening, i have noticed that the cork on the top of my bottle of G4 Blanco has been pushing out over night for 3 nights in a row. I looked it over and all seems to be fine, fits fairly snug, but I pour a drink, push the top back on, make sure it’s on good, and over night here it is. This is the first time this has happened to me, and believe me when I say there has been many bottles on the shelf.

Cheers! That looks really tasty right now!

It's trying to tell you something!

Does it seem to fit properly? I wonder what would cause that.

I’ve had very expensive wine and very cheap wine; it truly comes down to what your pallet prefers. My favorite type of red is Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, and I found one at Kroger for $11 that it amazing to me. I bought about 20 bottles :D

I'm open to recommendations. When I say cheap, I'm talking like $5-6 bottles. And, although that's definitely too cheap to expect anything decent, I've had some ok white wine in that range.
