A dealer I purchased from did not offer the Toyota 10yr/100k mile no deductible so I had to go to another dealer to get it. Also prices vary widely. I was located in VA and found the best deal by nearly $1k in MI. It can be a big profit item depending on the dealer. Best shop around.

I have the Toyota VSA Platinum and will be cancelling because I just found out it is running concurrent with the factory 3 yr/36 month warranty that comes with new vehicles. I also paid quite high compared to what members here had purchased recently. If these prices are applicable to Virginia (don't know if all 50 state applicable), then I will get it.
I have contacted and left message to Troy and Jerry, I will update once verified.

As long as you get it before 3/36 you'll be fine. Prices always go up though, could lock in the 10/100 for $1300 now with Troy.

Worked with Troy at Toyota of Greenfield and had a very positive experience. Everything went just as the other members on this post described. Everything was transparent and straightforward. Pricing was much, much, much better than the dealer who I bought the car from. I would highly recommend!

When I bought my 23 the dealer quoted me $3700 for the extended warranty and I just laughed. I already knew what I could get it for from the sellers on this thread and had the card from the dealer I bought my 13 from (super small dealer in northwest AL). Anyway, I said I can get it for $1400 from him and he's a small dealer, so either match that or I'll buy from him. He thought about it for a second and said "Well, I'm losing $ by matching, but ok we'll do it." So I got the 10/100 for $1400. They try to get you every single way they can.

The main problem I see is you will probably never need it, and if you do they will screw up more stuff than you can imagine, this is just my humble opinion.

If you price out any of the main TSS equipment for replacement it totally makes sense. While the 4Runner is an incredibly durable vehicle, the addition of a bazillion expensive electronics makes the possibility of a required repair/replacement much more likely than say issues with a 13 (my previous ride). To each their own but for me it was worth the investment.

This is a poll I'd like to see:

Extended warranty buyers - did you:

    1. Ever use it at all
    2. Use it for repair(s) that offset the purchase price
    3. Never use it at all

Yes, I used it to fix XREAS a couple of times. I don’t think XREAS holds up to washboard very well.

I'm still undecided on purchasing for the 4runner, but will definitely be purchasing for our new Grand Highlander

I purchased a 10 year 125k warranty on my 2018 TRD ORP 4Runner for around 1600 back in 2018. My A/C system failed at around 38k miles (I think it was the compressor but multiple parts had to be changed when it was fixed). The cost of repair was close to 3k so the warranty paid for itself with one major repair job. It’s not the norm in terms of peoples experiences with things breaking on a 4Runner but I was glad to have it and to have that piece of mind

    1. Yes, just recently used it in September (my 3/36 expired in December '23)
    2. The dealer replaced my shifter assembly under Extended Warranty (price was north of $800+ on the invoice, I paid $0).
