By 2030 you can bet that the base price will probably be 50k with the Pro running up to 70k.

Never used it in two years??? Well, there’s your problem! ;)

The first warm spring day you get, Roll down the back, and roll down the rest of the windows, and turn up the radio.

Adjust the side windows up and down until you get the perfect airflow.

Preferably, do this on your favorite back road, and get back to us:D

If toyota doesnt offer a roll down window, I’ll never buy another toyota again. Or at the very least, I will pout, or…. frown loudly.

I can promise it will look and perform way better than these. Of course, this is my opinion, and soccer moms are gonna soccer mom in whatever ride they get their deal on. As someone who actually rides trails, these aren’t an option.

The word “delay” has been thrown around so much. Quicker redesigns may be what the media wants (and customers hope for), but does anyone have a confirmed source at Toyota saying this thing was meant before 2024/25 or whenever it may be coming now?

According to the OP, it was originally set to be released in '22 as a '23 model, but got pushed back 2 years. This was based on a credible source, but not necessarily anyone directly involved in the development.

I do not know if this topic has been covered, but I am curious if there is any chance the 4Runner will be discontinued. The other day I noticed the 4Runner 40th anniversary edition is a 2023 when in my mind, should be a 2024. Is this a bad sign?

Toyota seems to have a hard time with anniversaries. The 15th anniversary Supra came out in '97, 15 years after the 1st year of the 2nd gen.

Oh good. It was just a thought I had. I am pretty new to Toyota so do not have a feel of how they operate. I know previously there was rumors of a new gen for 2024 which prompted me to pull a trigger on a 2023. The sales manager I know did the same thing when he heard the same rumors.

Production year versus Model year + semantics of model name (vs grade) often get in the way here.
For 4Runner, the model year was 1984, but started production in 1983. Since the majority of 2023 will be covered by 2023 models, you get the 40th anniversary.
For Supra, what a cluster - I can't fully explain this one, but it feels like Supra was just a package (think: TRD Off-Road) on the Celica, despite it being "in the name" until the next generation started in '82.

The Supra was based on the Celica (A) chassis from '79 - '86. In both cases, the front end was longer and had an entirely different engine ("M" series I6 VS "R" series I4). So, It was the Celica/Supra until '85, and then in '86 the Celica went FWD and got a new chassis code, and the Supra kept the "A" chassis designation.

So, that doesn't really make sense to me.

It’s genius, Toyota will sell more tailgates than they ever did bedsides for the old pros.

Nobody knows the answer to that question.

It's all speculation at this point.

    Agreed.

I wonder what I-force MAX is all about, though.

I hope to learn a lot about the future 4runner with this Taco release. Good to compare the common threads with the Sequoia too.

It looks like Toyota will be naming the truck based hybrids "I-Force Max" while car or unibody based SUV's get "Hybrid Max".

Exactly. I'm guessing this means the Tacoma Pro gets a 2.4L Turbo Hybrid. Perhaps it has a non-hybrid option as well. We'll have to see.

Next date I've heard for more info is late June. No idea how much (or how little) we'll hear.

I'm beginning to wonder if the 6th gen will add the 2.5L Hybrid as a motor option and follow the 2024 Grand Highlander:

    Grand Highlander powertrains:

    2.4L turbo
    2.5L Hybrid
2.4L Hybrid Max (turbo + hybrid)

4Runner would just re-brand the Hybrid Max as "I-Force".
