I feel like that is what many others are doing with the "flared" look. But yeah it's funny, I think that every time a raptor F150 goes past me. It's like a fat guy sitting next to you on a plane. You have to give them space but you kinda hate they take so much space, that they "spill out" in your seat/lane ;)

    Haha.
To me it’s just a street legal version of the ridiculous wheel poke you see down south like this. Pointless

It's what the well heeled buyers crave, apparently, that "flared" appearance without the benefit of longer suspension travel.

The 2.4L turbo is the best engine Toyota has built to date, most proven, reliable and trusted. It's the only engine Toyota should put in the 4Runner, all vehicles really. Buying anything else is like buying a flaming turd. It's very disappointing you would question the reliability.

But then you'd need a wider garage space to open the door. Sheldon said they intentionally made the door-to-door width the same as 3rd gen Tacoma, so it fits in the same garage space.

Wider control arms would make it the same width as a LX600. Consequence of sharing a TNGA-F platform with full-size trucks - there's a limit to how much they can shrink the parts.

Sheldon may need a wider space to get his fat ass in and out of the vehicle but the rest of us would be fine. I see full size trucks parked in compact spaces in parking garages in Boston all the time.

they can just use less offset wheels.

You know, like the wheels they use today.

    LOL

You mean numerically higher (more inset)? They're already at +50mm. They can't do +90mm or the steering angle would be even more pathetic than they are today. You saw the 6th gen's 2-ft wider turning circle in the press kit?

I know what I'm talking about. What are you talking about? Less (numerically lower) offset brings the wheels out, so the track and outer width are wider. If you use longer control arms but want to keep the overall width narrower, you'd need more offset wheels.

Ah yes, all the downsides of wider track without any of the benefits of a wider track.

    Huge step forward indeed.

Tells you a lot about the average 4Runner buyer these days, doesn't it. :/

Wonder if it's to make room for the massive center consoles and infotainment screens everyone now wants in the middle of the vehicle?

I don’t think that the interior space hasn’t grown much. It’s all in the wide bulbous quarter panels and deep fender flares.

Everything looks better on Camera, unless it's a DMV camera, then everyone looks like crap.

Terra color looks so dark in person, especially in the shade. It's a very strange and unique color for a vehicle.

    Lmao

The 6th gen forum has been a shitshow of guessing for a year, but now that new 4Runners are hitting the dealers, we should start to see some real feedback soon.

I still judge a little with slow head shakes in some cases, but nevertheless I do believe people should live their best life.

what 2020 model year to now BOF vehicles was it used in?

Remember when Toyota stuffed the 3.5L V6 from Camrys into the Taco and how Taco buyers loved it?

Ah yes, the famously hard-on-cars 25k a year and weekly offroading buyers of the well known BOF Lexus NX have tested out the motor for everyone else.
