OP here. I did say skyrocket. I won't try to define that word, but, I did get $46,400 for my '24 SR5P with 13,400 miles. About $4,400 more than I paid for it new a year ago. I brought the Carmax buy-offer printout to another dealer. The matched it on a trade for a new vehicle that had a 52K msrp. Of course the 52K is not what I got for my 4R. They took about $5,500 off MSRP. It was just a good deal all around.

Fair enough. It seemed like you were phrasing it as a question more than a statement but I stand corrected.

That's great the numbers worked out well for you on your upgrade.

    Kia.
No I'm kidding. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I believe the value of the 5th gen will remain strong. The variables will always be aftermarket garbage...the closer to stock you keep your truck, they better the resale.

    That’s a big change.
I would have gone with the KIA Telluride.

I've always had a love for great trucks, especially Toyotas, and great sport sedans. Every bunch of years I switch them out.

You have about 2 more months of the sweet spot on the value. If your thinking of unloading nows the time to do it.
KBB lists my 24 TRD PRO private sell price at 55400 to 60250 and the trade in value at 52 to 56 low and high. I put mine up for sale got tones of hits. The market demand is at 5 of 5 right now. I ended up trading it in and got 53k from the dealer with another dealer offering 54k but chose to take the 53k cause they had the modelof Land cruiser in stock i wanted. The only heritage blue in Ca right now on the lot all others are spoken for beofre they come off the boat from japan. I paid 56315. Mind you I had 30k on the 4runner so I drive it for one year and only took a 3k hit. I couldnt even lease a corolla for 3k a year. This trucks are at maximum peak right now. The New 4runner will have the same engine i have in the Land Cruiser and once guys get to feel the 465ft lbs of torque and have the ability to pass vehicles with the power of the 2.4 turbo hybrid motor they will want the new 6th gen. I personally dont care for the Nissan pathfinder stley rear windows the new runner has but its a matter of taste.

The styling on the LC250 is 10/10. The 6th gen 4R on the other hand...whatever happened there...

Whether prices skyrocket or plummet it doesn’t matter to me. I got in “early” just a couple weeks before the pandemic with my 2020 ORP so prices were reasonable. Always wanted one. Taken good trips with it and have lots of good memories in that truck. Have plans for many more trips of the same. It’s a keeper.
