    The Battery Tender is sure a handy option for us. We have one on our FJ40, both our 4Runners and our Kawasaki Mule and couldn't be happier. We've never let our Runners sit more than a week or 2 but I do want that excellent OEM Panasonic battery to last as long as it can, since it's essentially impossible to replace in in the USA.

    I'd also agree that disconnecting it would a good plan - so my vote would be 1. disconnect it and then 2. put it on a Battery Tender. It'll be in top shape when you return.
