2020 MGM SR5 nonscoop looking for a scooped hood swap. Orange County, CA

 

I want to trade my white flat hood and money for a 5th gen hood with a scoop. I live in North Louisiana and will drive to you.

 

I like my scoop.

 

I may end up doing a road trip in August from Phoenix, if available still, I can swing through and we can swap.

When I got my scooped hood done like 6mo ago, I left my non-scoop hood at the shop. Perhaps you can purchase that one for cheap and get it painted/installed. Let me know and I’ll send you the address. It’s in San Jose/Santa Clara area.

I tried to do a swap .. but can’t find a match and i couldn’t wait.

 

I'm in Los Angeles, so its a bit out of the way. Did you buy the parts on your own? What site?

 

Not sure if your asking me. But i ordered my scoop hood online from my local dealer. Cheaper to order online vs in the dealer, weird. I avoided shipping costs and strapped it on my roof and dropped it off at my shop. Later I realized the good fits in the truck.

 

Understood, but mine isn't staying in the garage all the time either. If I make the trip, we can exchange pictures before hand.

Traded my hood with a scoop for 559_silver_4runner's flat hood today. Straight swap and everyone is happy, only took 40 minutes too. The flat hood may not look as good, but my goal was never to own a beauty queen and now I can mount a vehicle specific solar panel from Cascadia. 90watts on the hood seems worth giving up a decorative hood scoop.

Update: Swapped my hood with another forum member a couple days after posting here. Drove like an hour and wrenched in the parking lot of an auto parts strore for 40 minutes. I was concerned about getting the hoods lined up right but it was actually wasn't bad at all. Purpose of the swap was to put a solar panel on the hood, so I'll be doing that soon.
