for the sound deadening , did you not press it in , or roll it ? unless its some product i'm not understanding (normally it comes with those ripples and you put pressure onto the deadening so it adheres and flattens out?

 

Yep. Course is absolutely hammered afterwards. The problem with most of the races out of Ensenada is they use 50% of the course every time. So it’s getting worse and worse. There are close to a 100 vehicles running 40” tires and half of those are putting over 800 HP to the ground. The course down below Bahia de los Angelos is amazing though.

 

I rolled it on. First time doing it. I think it’s right.

 

Got the 34” skinnies to fit yesterday. About 90% of the way there.

Also wired the passenger side camp/scene lights.

I have all of our sleeping gear in the Yakima. In the Husky box is a 2 person SUP. In front of that will be a half sized (25 gallon) Husky box with our cooking gear. And a one person SUP strapped to the top of that. A lot up top but the only thing heavy is the cooking gear.

Need to do list:

• Install the ICS third light unit (mostly wired already)
• Clean up some wiring under the hood. it’s about 90% done
• Find a spot to permanently mount the inverter. Probably under driver seat. It’s currently sitting on the floor behind the driver seat. It will get damaged if left there
• I’d like to install a lithium ion battery with an isolator for the fridge and Starlink to run off of. I want to mount it right in front of the fridge and behind the rear seat.
• Regear and locker
• Rear bumper to fit a spare tire, maybe 2 for chasing? Has anyone fit 2 34”/35” tires on a 4Runner rear bumper before?
  
• Small things: paper towel rack, Velcro straps for the jack handle, label fuse boxes, etc

Yep. So close already. I bought it new 6 years ago in March. It has 51xxx miles on it and it’s my daily. Higher MPG would be nice, but capability is my objective.

 

Made it to Twin Falls yesterday. Probably heading up to Anderson Ranch Reservoir near Pine tomorrow.

Averaged between 10-12 mpg (GPS mileage, speedometer off by about 9%) while averaging around 70/75 mph. Definitely needs a regear. I tried to keep it at 2800 rpm’s in 4th.

how do you like the Wescott roof rack? I was looking at them but they seemed a little too proprietary as far as add-ons are concerned. What are you thoughts?

 

Love it. Bought some t nuts from tnutz.com and some ring eye bolts off of Amazon to mount the bins with ratchet straps. The Yakima box mounted with no additional effort or “add-ons”.

I would estimate I had ~200 lbs up there. This is a picture at laurel lake near mammoth.
