Can't stand the KDSS and XREAS systems personally. I always mod my vehicles so they just get in the way and add unnecessary cost when purchasing the vehicle. Best for those that keep their vehicles close to stock IMO

It’s just a mechanical system. Well, the KDSS system is. For what I use the 4Runner for, it works for me. If I go the route of building a rig for a purpose then I’ll probably opt out of some of the fancier options...or a 1st Gen Tacoma

I know plenty of people love KDSS in their rigs. We just love TC Long Travel setups more

Anyone have any insight, or Toyota reps that can speak to,6F4F0115-0FE1-4D72-B747-96D6C28E9C70.jpg on the Toyota rack showing on the 2019 4R Pro? Their little blip of video shows it and then a very brief description of the accessory. Just didn’t know if it would be any good compared to the other racks out there.

It looks just like the roof rack the fj had, I like it looks wise better than the ones now. I have no idea on weight, but it looks sturdier.

Haven’t looked through the whole thread, but I didn’t see RSG listed for sliders. They just released them a few months ago, and I have been very impressed with the sliders, but more impressed with the company. They have them built and in stock. Ordered mine on a Sunday, received on Friday (bare metal). https://rsgmetalworks.com/

I've been looking into getting a Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier for my 18 4Runner. Hefty Fab, Pelfreybilt and Expedition One make the list so far.

Any input on the these Rear Bumpers and the Companies themselves?

    Thanks

I guess I did. Not the positive response I was hoping for.

They are listed on the first page of this thread, so I was hoping they were a good choice. Good looking stuff.

    They were.

To briefly summarize: they took $300,000 worth of payments for orders, stonewalled customers for months, then filed bankruptcy and screwed over a lot of guys. Some people are out $3-5,000.

    Massive thread on TacomaWorld.

Feel free to place an order, though! LOL!

Thanks for getting me up to speed. Too bad, they did make good looking stuff.

I'm glad i did not order earlier and get caught up in the mess. I hope it works out in the end for all......

That narrows my list for Rear Bumper / Tire Carrier.

I've read great things about Expedition One.

Any additional feedback is appreciated on E One and Hefty Fab.

LFD Offroad is coming out with A rear bumper this month. I just put on their skid plate last week, its damn nice and only $149.99 bare metal.

king 3" lift kit, fuel vectors, 285 toyo mt's, oem audio 500q, morimoto hid headlights, morimoto led fogs,
C4 Fab should have a shot of thier lopro on the list. Personally keeping the look of the front styling C420180602_171317.jpg 20180602_171400.jpg lopro looks the best IMO.

Anyone know why rsg metalworks sliders base plates have the gap on the drivers side? No other brands I looked at had this.

That’s what I was thinking, so they are showing it with KDSS an most others don’t.

They only sell one type that will fit both non-KDSS and KDSS. Saves making 2 versions of their different varieties.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
At first glance they reminded me of the SleeOffroad sliders, and then I saw the next pic.
Looks to me that they would collect a lot of debri up under the inside. It’s no completely boxed. I say that’s a perfect place for wet mud to slowly cause corrosion.
I rolled with Demello Hybrid sliders. I like the strength that the square tube gives on the main rail, while using the round tube on the exterior.
I will post some pics of my armor as well.

Has anyone replaced the whole Limited grill/bumper with an SR5 grill/bumper? I can't find it again, but I believe in some discussion of replacing the Limited grill with a TRD Pro, someone said the SR5 actually matches up with the Limited's attachment points.
