4.0V-6 longevity issues?

    RSG sliders, Yakima offgrid basket, Pro-Comp wheels, SOS Streamline bumper and skids, Warn VR EVO10S winch + Ultimate Sidewinder, Bilstein 6112 + 5100 + rear lift coils, Rigid Dually SS ditch lights w/Caliraised brackets and OEM style dash switch
    The newer GM V8's with the cylinder deactivation are way too problematic for my preference. I'd much rather swap in a Lexus V8.

    I think I would be inclined to look into one of the AFM/DFM disablers if I were to go with a modern version.

    Now that I’ve successfully threadjacked this into an LS discussion….:D:p

    Do LS crate engines only come with the cylinder deactivation? Or does GM sell some type of special “crate edition” for hobbyists, hot rodders, and such, without all the extra crap on it?

    I don't think crate engines would have it. Most people get them from junkyards, and can bypass the deactivation through tuning or stand alone engine management.

    There are companies that sell kits to remove the VVT and cyl deactivation.
