If only I could get my hands on one of the 70 series... (sorry, drool on the keyboard) A gal I dated in high school, way back in the dark ages, had a 1976 FJ40 - I've wondered if she managed to keep it over the years. Maybe someday I'll be able to "go back in time" with one of the Land Cruiser classics. Retirement is within sight!

I thought they stopped a long time ago putting it on drivers side for safety field-of-vision reasons for the driver.

I like the tail gate opening. Dont like the flaired fenders. I like the limited looks .
Not a fan of the non hybrid motor right now. Seems small for a 5000 lb vehicle. I dont care that it has turbos. Turbos tend to weeken engines.
8 speed is nice, especially if it can get better fuel economy. Lol

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I love watching this guy's videos:

At the end he mentions the trim levels, specifically the NEW trim levels. I think I'm going to like or want the new "Platinum" edition when it comes out.

I think like the 5th gen the two to maybe watch for 4x4 is the Trailhunter and TRD Pro. We shall see if the Trailhunter sits above or below the Pro. Large debates on 5th gens on ORP vs Pro. They both seemed to be equipped with some decent features and suspension options. Not sure I would need a giant in your face PRO badge on the back tail gate over some other features like a higher air intake or on board compressor etc. Tough choice. . .

The back seats fold forward now to allow access to an available 3rd row. Toyota recognized that a growing number of 4Runner buyers are females and that a 3rd row was more important than the ability to sleep inside of it.

its already been stated that it will go like (with the trailhunter being the halo trim)

    lowest to highest base price

    SR5,
    TRD Sport,
    TRD Sport Premium,
    TRD Off Road,
    TRD Off Road Premium,
    Limited,
    Platinum,
    TRD Pro,
    Trailhunter

i am guessing the price difference between trims to be around 2k (maybe 3k) with the SR5 starting at 42-43k

    Yep.

Nine models, and for the trims which match Tacoma, we can probably look at the price difference in those and infer similar differences with the 4Runner.

I like it except the front. 4Runner should have a unique front end.

Agreed. The lack of fog lights and fangs just makes it look like a Tundra from the front. Everything else I'm fine with.

only outlier is that the tacoma doesnt have a platinum trim so it will throw off the price differential between the limited and trd pro

i am guessing the trail hunter will be pushing 63-65k decently equipped and pricing will go down from there.

after 65k you are pushing into LC250 which optioned out with prem pkg is 68k ($4600 less w/o the prem pkg) unless you go with the 1958 at roughly 56k base.
