Seems the Tundra shares or upgrades features to the 4Runner. Good info.

well the 14in screen is the same size and looks as our 23 tundra, so i imagine it has the same settings. even the layout on the main display in the YT videos and the press release look exactly the same as our headunit in the 23 tundra.

the only thing i see better on the 4runner is that the 12in MID screen is has more config options than our 23 tundra platinum with the digital 12in screen.

also if its the same setup as our 23 tundra. you only get 1 yr of remote start/connect (this also gives you nav if you dont use andriod auto or carplay) for free then its $15 month after that.

if you want to see the head aches with pairing to a fob/profile go look at the tundra forum to see the issues.

took my about 1-2 hrs to get the wifes fob/profile paired and the homelink was a pita also.

It is mandated by the US government to have that feature so yes. Unless you live outside the US then I don’t know.

I have seen issues with 5-6 years old Volvo and Mercedes-Benz instrument clusters. I don’t need new features front of me. Fuel, speed, rpm, oil and water temperature. What else do we need? Map in the middle? No thanks. I’m fine with Apple CarPlay in the middle. You are right about the cost. That’s a factor but they sell the solution as a benefit for you because they can send new designs and updates.

good thing toyota implemented a 2 stage start/stop via the brake pedal. on our 23 tundra, if you lightly press the brake pedal the SS wont engage and a little window pops up in the MID that says press brake harder to engage SS.

also have a button to turn off SS, but you have to do this after every engine off cycle.

think you have to go 1/3 or 1/2 pedal depression to engage SS

As I've consumed all these videos, I think I still like it. Maybe even moreso than how this design sits on the Tacoma. I wont be in the market for years so it doesnt really matter but I'd like to see it in person. I think part of the issue with the rear doors is an optical illusion. It looks tiny but a fair amount of the obnoxious fender flare is on there. Its not just the body colored portion that opens. I'm also withholding judgement until I see it, but I'm not a fan of what amounts to an integrated bullbar on the nose. Interior looks good to me, though pretty busy. They should have brought Party Mode back if they were going to add 47 new buttons

I'm so glad I pulled the trigger and just got the 24 ORP. I was afraid I wouldnt like the redesign, and I was right. Maybe it will look better in person, but that's being optimistic. This new 25 reminds me of the old school X-Terra or Pathfinder.

On another note, nothing says $60,000+ vehicle like a hood support rod.

Have to admit that the formfitting snorkel is pretty cool on the Trailhunter.

I agree with you and sadly all the paid puppet spin doctors have come out of the woodwork now to tell you what you should buy. Cracks me up. I have seen only one guy on YouTube that seems to really speaks his mind - and I guess he is not on anyone's payroll. :) 2 minute rant ends...

from what i remember of my 2004 v8 4runner, the rear passenger doors had a over fender extension on the doors leading edge that made the door look samller than it was. it was a huge over fender cover compared to my 2014 4runner.

and yes i know i had a very rare v8 4runner with the fake oem push bar. never once cracked it though.

whats highlighted in yellow actually moves with the door.

I saw that as well, why in the world would you remove a feature the previous Gen had besides trying to save themselves money while charging the consumer more. Looks like someone will be making money selling hood strut kits now.

As I watch more of the videos, I'm actually starting to think it's gonna be okay. Expedition Overland had a decent video on it with some good info from Kurt Williams. I would like to check one out, albeit not with intent to buy.

Did they list wheel sizes / specs? I like the bronze finish style on that green runner. Slap a set of those on my dinosaur 5th gen

OMG no one addressed this. A locking/unlocking gas cap hatch on the 6th gen or still wide open ?

Look at the size of the window for the rear door, it looks much smaller.

On a side note, I purchased my last 23 Pro from Minot Toyota. Great bunch of people there!

Who’s that guy? Do you have a link?
Honestly I was shocked that on the day of be official introduction by Toyota they already had test videos uploaded on YouTube. This never happened before with other brands. Obviously those channels are on the payroll that’s why they all say things like “Toyota take my money, I would wire the money tomorrow etc”.

All the channels/vloggers/rig builders/parts sellersare going to be all aboard as it generates revenue for them. It's just business. What will be more telling of the 6th Gen will be buyers with no incentive to sugar coat anything aside from their pride of purchase.

I remember when I picked up my 2006 Limited Tundra with 17s the first thing I did was remove the running boards and ditch the 17s for 16s to get more sidewall for off-roading. There was only one set of 16 inch wheels I found that just barely cleared calipers.

it will be interesting to see if going down to 17s will be possible with the 6 Gen brake system for those with similar concerns/needs.

Does anyone know the potential max length of the cargo area if the rear seated were to be put down? I'm trying to figure out if I could fully lie down in the back

I don't know the length but it looks like it may not bee as deep as the 5th Gen. When the rear seates are folded down the still sit about 8" higher than the remaining cargo floor. See about 8:25 in this video in the thread:

At this point I think you would have to reach out to one of the reviewers with access to a prototype to see if they would take measurements for you.
