any idea what it sold for?

 

$42k - No original hood & no locker, but had a supercharger. Way too much for someones SR5 project...

Always been said, turn a car yellow and you eliminate 99% of potential buyers.

 

Supra in the 80s used it...it's definitely a throw back colour.

I do not mind it. Sort of odd though to do another orangish colour right after doing orange the year before though.

 

They also carried solar octane for 2 years because of the tundra but yes its odd

 

Am guessing the colors are to influence soccer mums as well.
Look nice though. But Sequoia are hard sell. Only few sold in comparison to T4R

They deliberately slowed down production in 2023, I wonder why. It could have been repurposing chips for more profitable vehicles.
I also am curious as a data science question -- what happens to a vehicles demand if manufacturer deliberately reduces how many they manufacture for 1-2 years.

 

Could be interest rates are super high so less ppl buying

 

Did a test with 3 of my close to me dealers except the one where I’m getting mine. They all want over msrp for their Pro’s. Won’t be me paying over.

 

Buyers are waiting on NexGen6...

I waited till 2022, then pulled the trigger. Thankfully I did.

 

I saw these two colors painted on stamped concrete. It was very nice.

 

I like it...I think I like it better than solar octane. Probably my least favorite of the non metallic colors but better than Voodoo, Lime Rush or Solar Octane...i like the more understated colors - my 2cents worth

 

The photo the OP posted looks like a reddish mid brown on my screen. I do not see orange. And the OP photo is a different shade from the Celica (on my screen as well.) I remember seeing a brown Tundra a few years ago and it looked pretty good. All kidding aside, this Chestnut Brown "Terra" might look nice. I would have preferred a more open, warmer shade (like the Celica photo) but we'll have to wait and see.

 

I was on the Toyota site this morning and there was only 1 SO TRD Pro available in a 500 mile radius and they wanted +10K over MSRP. Bloody hell! There were a half dozen white and black TRD Pros but the asking prices were not listed. Last week Friday, there were a few SOs but they were all sold. I may have to learn to love the Terra color after all.

 

IIRC Volvo xc90 dropped a year completely (2014 maybe?). It was right before the redesign and perhaps when ownership changed to Chinese company. It doesn’t seem like sales now are affected that much as I see this vehicle everywhere.
Obviously someone somewhere in Toyota marketing/sales is making the decision to sell lesser 4Rs and give chips from that vehicle to … maybe a Lexus? Am sure they know more than I do, but just curious what the thought process is and whether at all there’s a concern for losing brand familiarity.
