I put a deposit on my TRD Pro on October 5th, and waited about a month, closed on it November 7th. Pretty straightforward on that side of the deal and paid MSRP. The real pain was how the value on my trade-in changed within those 30 days. I traded in my 2017 TRD Pro, which they originally were going to give me $35.5k then by closing date they only wanted to give me $33.0...talked them back up to $34.5, but still they knew they had me locked in.

I let a lady friend test drive my 21' TRD/ORP/MR since there were apparently no TRD trims in town to test drive. LOL She said the dealers told her any TRD trims are either already pre-sold or sell off their lots in less than a week. She wanted the exact same vehicle/trim level as mine - but in Super White. I told her the 2023 would basically be a clone of mine with a couple of little upgrades. So last week she went to the same dealer I use and put $500.00 down to get on the sale list. She paid MSRP + $500.00 mark up.

The dealer told her it could be a 3-4 month delivery. Does this sound about right for a 2023 at this stage ?

This seems to be a Canadian thing. Inquired at my local dealer about a new 2022 4runner and no word. Wanted to custom order the last of the old outgoing model so to speak. Then "Bam" there it was 3 weeks later take it or leave it as someone else will take it. So now the proud owner of a 2022 TRD ORP in midnight black for below MSRP. Honestly we really didn't have the opportunity to choose the model let alone color. Still no complaints other than black is a b**** to keep clean and scratch free.

UPDATE: She told me the sales rep at the dealer just called her and said they were able to add her 4R to their last allocation. And is now just leaving the Port in Japan. So he mentions it should now only be 4-6 weeks for delivery. She is super happy. That Toyota allocation program for their dealers is really strange.

I actually just put down $1000 for a premium. How long did it take y’all to get yours? Some are saying a month some are saying 3..

I put $500 down, had it in less than a month. The real problem was I waited over a year looking for the "Exact" specs I wanted. Nothing crazy, Black TRD ORP with a moonroof and KDSS. You'd think it would be pretty easy, but I had to turn down a sales call every month because they all think you are so desperate to buy something, that you'll take anything. I figure if I'm dropping $50k, I should get what I want the first time and not what they are pushing because no one else wants to buy it.

We Used the Toyota inventory search (https://www.toyota.com/search-inventory/) to find the exact vehicle we wanted, contacted the dealer to make sure it was on the lot, and then went and made an offer. Drove home the same day. 1500 under msrp.

Had emails out to half a dozen dealers that werent listing over MSRP with my SR5P build on Sunday. Only 2 color choices and after seeing one in person I would not pay for a 3rd row. Only got 1 bite, on my 2nd color choice, $500 deposit today and was told late February delivery. The build sheet they sent me showed FOI options and POI options, so I assume its over here at least? VIN lookup doesnt show a dealer yet. Anyway, MGM SR5P for MSRP, scheduled to wait about a month

well hopefully it’s almost here! Can’t wait to get my off-road premium! Was told it’ll be here mid Feb. (10-20) so we will see! I know it normally sits at port for 2 weeks due to low workers…but hopefully it won’t. It should be in Portland 02/02!

Put $1000 down on a sr5 premium with third row on January 14th. Supposed to show up mid March. Excited to get it. Pretty much paid sticker price. They gave us 2k more for our outback than anyone else offered.

Wheels and blackout/bebadge the emblems will be the first mods. Maybe a 1" cornfed spacer if the rake bothers me.

As it turned out, she just took delivery a couple weeks ago. So only a couple months. Sounds about typical.

mystylistryan, I believe that my ORP will be arriving with your Runner. It appears that the Indiana Highway has arrived at the Portland, OR port.

I started looking like Mid January. Most "in transits" local were 3-4 weeks out and 95% had deposits already. I found one in stock about 130 miles away and they delivered it to my house. It was kind of an awesome buying experience. Had it in 2 days - 2023 TRD ORP premium. That seems to be the bulk of the in-transit cars right now

I went on buy a toyota.com last Friday and picked the only dealer that listed there asking price in my area. They showed a 4runner limited listed in the color and interior I wanted.
I called them Saturday and they said it wouldn't be in for four or five days but I made an appointment to go over price and terms on Monday at 2:00PM. As I was talking to the salesman the manager came over and said the truck just arrived with my 4runner on it!
I walked out of there at 7:00 PM with my new truck.

I’m so jealous. My Peterson Toyota guy said it is gonna take 3 freaking weeks to get here from Portland… it’s literally a 6 hour drive on a good day. Idk why it’s gonna take so long.

Put my name in for a 23 Pro back in December with an 8 month wait. Got the call a couple weeks ago that someone had unexpectedly moved to Hawaii & I bought it that same day.

I reserved a TRD ORP with my local dealer in early december, it arrived Feb 1 and I picked it up Feb 2. Paid MSRP.

I could have got one sooner if I'd been more flexible about color, options, etc. I got on the list at a couple other dealers and they called me with cancelled orders that I could have taken, but decided to just wait for the build I really wanted.

Smart to wait and get exactly what you want. If I’m paying $40k+ for a new 4Runner, then I want the exact color that I choose.

How long does it usually take to get it to the dealership once it’s at the port? in Portland right now.. I’m in Boise, Idaho. 6 hours driving basically

When you plug your vin into https://toyota-tracker.com/
what dates are you getting? Also, is your 4Runner in Allocation, Freight, or Ground status?

When I got my 2022 I did what everyone else did the call and email dealers I specifically wanted lunar rock without kdss found one by my house and they wanted several thousands over because they put wheels tires and lift told the sales guy I had my own suspension I thought he would tell me to have a nice life or kick rocks (pun intended) but very surprisingly about an hour later he texts me with all the stealerships within 500 miles of me that had that exact build on the way, that’s how I got mine. I left him a great yelp review

There is no VIN right now that I know of, or he’s keeping it from me. Allocated… it is just sitting at the port waiting for processing. Last checked yesterday at 3pm.

Looks like he’s sending you screenshots of dealer daily. You will probably see it at the dealer about 2-3 weeks after port processing has been completed, maybe sooner. Just have him update you when it has been processed through the port. Your 4Runner should go from the port to dealer via truck, which is the fastest. Rail transport adds 1-3 weeks to the transport time. Surprised that you they’re not giving you a vin.

Yeah, that’s what I was told about to the end of the month maybe? But yeah, I haven’t received a vin number and I asked him for one.
