My 2 cents on the TRD PRO Exhaust. I just bought a 24 PRO in underground and was really concerned with the exhaust drone. My concern stem from the fact that in my old 2017 PRO in cement (that I regret selling to this day) I added the TRD exhaust and the drone was very bad. I was then now thinking, Am I doing the same mistake and will regret buying the 24? I said fuck it! worst of all I can always change the exhaust to a normal OEM one. Now that I have had the 24 PRO for about 2 weeks, I can tell you that Toyota did something with the sound deadning or insulation on the new PROs that actually reduced quite much the drone from the TRD exhaust when compared to adding it to a non-pro (or to a pre-2020 Pro) 4Runner as an aftermarket accessory. It is not nearly as bad as was in my 2017 PRO. I actually enjoy it now.

I said this before I thought my 20 AG Pro was louder than my 23 Pro is now. My Pro exhaust is staying.

Strange I have an ORP and they say that the muffler you put on yours is already on mine. But the tailpipe goes out to the right and is black and wider. I think they got the paperwork wrong.

I recently bought a 2022 4R TRD Pro. Within the first few minutes of the test drive my wife commented on "irritating" the exhaust sound. We are planning an 8,000 mile trip to Alaska next summer so we need to figure out how to address the drone sound.
I've read a lot of forum comments about the exhaust drone on the TRD Pro. Some love the sound of the TRD Pro exhaust and some don't. I've seen some recommend Magnaflow and some recommend Borla as good replacements but there seems to be disagreement on whether they actually improve things. Some say their Borla/Magnaflow made it quieter and some say it actually seemed louder (??).

Have any of you replaced the OEM exhaust on a TRD Pro that can comment on the change in exhaust tone and volume? I am looking for something that will remove/reduce the drone at certain RPM's. I am not looking for an exhaust that sounds tough (I have a vette for that fix). I am not looking for horsepower increase or MPG improvements, although that would be welcome if it is a side effect. I just want to find something that addresses the drone.

I actually have the upgraded TRD PRO exhaust system on my ORP 2022 4runner and hate the drone noise. When the dealer looked up the part numbers for the exhaust system using my VIN number he said I had the stock exhaust. I know now I don't have the stock exhaust. I'm wondering if I can have them replace the exhaust system with the stock exhaust to eliminate the noise.
