Makes sense and how ironic, the first car I ever owned was a 1979 Ford Bronco Custom. It had a 400 big block in it and removable back. I was asking about tires because it was a lot of research to find the biggest tire that would fit without running and I ended up with the BFG KO2’s 265 60 R20’s. They barley rubbed when turning sharp but I fixed it by switching the left mid flap to the right and vice versa. The holes match up and it makes it indent instead of out dent. But your right, the Ko2 tread pattern loves to pick up small pebbles for sure. Thanks for all the info man! I’ll post a pic once I do the 3/2 lift!

Oh, and I did just notice your request/tire set up. Definitely looks better with the 17’s, more tire

I think more sidewall makes it ride a bit better. Might be all in my head tho.

Makes total sense, more air and rubber underneath you.

I used Bilstein 5100 to lift 1.75 but went with OEM coils on my 18 limited. I have yet to swap out the rear shocks. I've already got the Bilstein ready and will put it up tomorrow. But My problem is i didnt' realize when i was loosening the LCA that would mess up the alignment so its pretty bad at the moment. And i also have a traction control lights on - and i didn't like that rough ride. Do you think I messed up the ABS sensor or aligning would take care of that? Also is it ok to drive with that lights on?
    Thanks ya'll

Has anyone went with the Revtek 3/2 lift in a 2021 limited?I just ordered it and it says it’s made for the limiteds with XREAS and doesn’t require removal of the XREAS system as far as I know. I currently have the rough country level on the front and 265/60/20 BFG KO2’s, but want to do a little higher and bigger tire if that’s possible. I think the 3/2 would look good even with my current tire size but would love to get more sidewall. I don’t think they make a 265/65/20 Ko2. I think it jumps to 275 which might be too wide for the stock 20 inch rims. Thoughts?

4runner007…..finally after months of research your front leveling lift is exactly what I’m try to achieve with my 2016 limited in pearl white.
I have Dueler A/T 255/55/20. Any issues with the 2” Rough County front spacer. Did it change your ride? I am not interested in disconnecting the XREAS system.
    Great look on your 4R.

    Hi Sea Salt,
When I purchased my 2021 4 runner limited blizzard pearl I installed the Rough Country 2” spacers and had no issues at all. Installed myself and the only area to be careful with was the shocks due to the XREAS. You can’t take the shock off to put the spacer on top, so you just have to do it inside the wheel well which just makes for a smaller work area. No biggie though, took an extra 20 minutes per side. Ride quality actually improved after the spacers were installed. It was a bit too soft and “boaty” stock.

I had the 2” rough country spacers for 2 months and decided I wanted more height to fit bigger tires. I’m running 265 60 r20’s BFG KO2’s. So last week I swapped out the 2” Rough Country Spacers for a 3” front, 1” rear Torq spacer kit. And now it is perfect for what I was looking for and I have 285 60 r20 BFG KO2’s ordered. Here’s after the 3/1 kit

4Runner007 looks great! Are you running wheel spacers to push the tucked stock limited wheels out? I was thinking of utilizing either a 3/4" or 1.5" Bora spacers.

As a matter of fact I just got home front thanksgiving with the family and on my doorstep was my order of 1” wheel spacers! Putting them on tonight while the kids are asleep :). I’ll post a pic in the morning. I also was about to pull the trigger on the Bora 3/4” spacers, but I read a few reviews from different sources and it appears I would have to cut down my lug screws on the rotor to make the spacer sit flush. I deceived to try the 1” first I knew wouldn’t required any cutting to see how it looked and go from there. We shall see the outcome shortly.

Ok, I put the 1 inch wheel spacers on last night so here’s the outcome….the 1” spacers are too much for my liking. Personally I think it makes the tires stick out too far. Remember though, I am running 265 60 r20 BFG KO2’s which already stick out more than the stock tires because of the sidewall. I think I would like the 1” spacers if I was running smaller tires with less sidewall. So unfortunately the outcome is I’ll be taking them off (only did one side to see the look) and returning them. I’m also waiting on an order of 285 60 r20 bfg KO2’s which will be bigger as well so I’ll either go with a 1/4 inch spacer or non at all. Also, depending on how the UCA’s I ordered go, I’m not sure of the tire will for back on and not rub. Below and after pics below.

I After installing the 1” spacers it’s helped me determine exactly what I’m looking for which is the 1/4”. found some 1/4 inch spacers that actual Toyota makes I’m going to try next. I was surprised to see that Toyota is the manufacture for these 1/4” spacers which is ideal. I’d like to keep as much Toyota as possible for fitment Etc.

I figured out I want the tires to essentially be flush with the mud flap, which looks to be roughly 1/4” in stock. The 1/4 will give me the look I want and allow me to put the tires back on to the original Lug screws.

Update, so I ordered 1/2 inch spacers on accident thinking they were 1/4, so I thought why not give them a try on one side and see how they look. I installed them in the passenger side yesterday, and too still to much for my liking. Also, when you get to 1/2 inch and below you still use the factory lug bolts which made me a little weary on safety since I was losing 1/2 inch of thread. So I returned the half inch and ordered the correct 1/4. They get here Saturday and I’ll post a picture. But I think these are going to be the perfect fit.

Thank you for all of the detailed updates! My plan is to just run a RC or comparable leveling kit and 275/55/R20 BGG KO2's. However, now you have me questioning what size spacer I should utilize, but I may need at least a 1" with the 275's.

I’m running 265 60 R20’s with no wheel spacers and have a good 1/2 inch of space between the upper control arm. You’ll be able to fit the 275 55 20’s no problem.

New here. Looking to put a lift on the wardens 2021 nightshade. We had a 2017 sr5 that had a rev tech done by the dealership. The 2017 got totaled and I believe the lift saved her life from the sedan that hit her.
I believe it was 3” in front and 2” rear. Which we want to go back with. Not necessarily rev tech, just want great quality. I have a local shop that has a great reputation in town that is working on a quote for me. He emailed today and said he wants to do some more research to make sure there won’t be any issues with vibration due to being all wheel drive. Sounds like they have done some nightshades before. I’m guessing nightshades are not all, full time 4 wheel drive. If they are all full time, then I might need to second guess this shop. Has anyone had any issues with vibration, or any other issues? After many many nights of searching for a black nightshade, 2months and 4 states away for the thing to arrive. I hope I am not hosed on being able to lift this thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your in luck my friend! The nightshade had the exact same suspension as the 2021 limiteds and you can lift it! I bought my Runner in June and it took me 5 months of research to find the right lift. I started with a 2” level, then found a 3/1 lift and installed it last month. It looks great and drives great. There was only one option I found for a 2021 limited 3/1 lift which was Torq Engineering's 3/1 kit. It says it’s made for up to 2019, however they just haven’t updated their site and it will fit a 2021. I did the install myself and the only challenging part was not being able to pull out the entire shock to put the lift on due to the XREAS oil lone to the shock. But only added 45 min to the install on each side. As for tires, I have 265 60 r20 BFG KO2’s, but I have enough room for 285 60 r20’s so I have those on order. It’s about an 1”. Offer in diameter. And I know they make the limiteds and nightshade in 2wd, but I am 99% positive all the 4 wheel drives are All wheel drive.

Anytime man, feel free to message me or even call or text me (559) 303-3230. I wish I had someone to talk it through when I was going through the process. A lot of figuring it out because there wasn’t much out there.

Been a while! Thought I’d share my brake caliper project I just finished. I painted my wife’s brake calipers Red on her 2021 Audi Q7 a few weeks ago and of course my brain started wondering what it would look like on my 2021 limited. So I pulled off my calipers, dismantled them down to metal, put 3 light and 1 thick coat of red 500 degree paint, the. 3 light coats of clear gloss 500 degree paint, the. Baked them on a pan in the oven for an hour. Came out absolutely perfect! Looks factory. Even put a TRD emblem on the sides with a clear coat over for good measure. I don’t think they would look great on every color 4 runner, but the whites and grays for sure.

How are you liking your 1/4in wheel spacers? Those just sandwich in right, just held on with the pressure from the tightened lugnts/ wheel? Was the price for the toyota spacers you posted per unit?

I ended up not using them. But yes. They slip over the factory studs and factory lugs are used. With my BFG KO2’s being 265 60 R20 they have me the stance I wanted without having to do the spacers. Spacers we’re $150 for the set of 4

Thanks! I’ve got the Off Road model w stock wheels, and often wonder if a smidge of poke is what mine needs visually.

I dont know why I keep looking for reasons to spend more borrowed money lol.

Lol, I’m in the same boat my friend. It can get addicting for sure. I have done a lift, tires, tinted windows, black badging, black chrome exhaust tip, trd pro floor Matt’s, racks, and just ordered trd valve stem caps simply because I can’t find anything else to do on it at the moment, lol. It’s a slippery slope buddy. Bud a fun one
