Yeah I got the hybrid. You ordered on 3/15?

Dude, 4 weeks in to your order is way too early to be chimping out about it. Pretty much every bumper manufacturer builds to order unless it’s off the shelf fag fours or ARB. These things take time and you aren’t the only order they have to work on. Give it time and be patient.

Who ordered after you and already has their bumper?

8-12 weeks is industry standard on lead times across the board for bumpers. CBI is running about 18 weeks, C4 is 12 weeks, relentless is 12 weeks, shrockworks is 8-12 weeks, heftyfab is about 10 weeks. I don’t see the issue with lead time at SOS at all.

The install process is pretty straight forward and the measurements for the install are basically the same across the board. If you want to get measurements, watch the C4 install video on YouTube as the measurements for where to cut are the exact same. The nice thing with the SOS bumpers is you don’t have to move the power steering line.

My bumper shipped UPS freight. Once it’s ready to ship, I’m sure Eddy or Skip will reach out to you about it as they did for me. It’s still way too early in the order to be worrying about this stuff.

If anyone got their orders in less than 4 weeks, it’s likely because SOS has those items on the shelf from cancelled orders or pre-stock for group buys etc.

    Tool list:
    1. Angle grinder and cutoff wheel and a flap disc
    2. 14mm socket and wrench
    3. 17mm socket
That’s pretty much all that’s required for install.

Can be done in your driveway in an hour and a half.

Ok so lets disect this here. First of all your email to Eddy I'll get with him and make sure he answers it or has gotten it, I totally get your irritation there. Not trying to make excuses for the man but everyone is human and sometimes other things have your attention and you forget things. For shipping we are shipping UPS right now or some other freight carrier whatever we can get in a timely fashion and can deliver to our customers in a timely fashion. As far as the pickups and installs right now you not wanting to make the trip is totally understandable as we will probably be done with yours before all this mess clears. We are sending emails to those affected by this with their email when the product is completed to talk to them about how they want to handle it either shipped, held on to, whatever we can do. We don't want to jump the gun to early with that as it may not be needed. Now as far as the directions, well that's our weak sauce and we openly admit it that's our weakness. I'm waiting on a few more pictures and I'll be working on it ASAP and make sure you get it!

Now onto those who ordered after you receiving theirs before you. Well I am not sure exactly who you are referencing and why you mention we pushed yours back to get steel out. There is only one person in that shop that runs the aluminum gun that's Eddy. Now for all of our orders we do a batch style build process. For as small as we are and the people we have it's the most efficient. That means that we will optimize a sheet of steel by cutting many different parts to get the most out of a sheet and reduce scrap thus reducing overhead thus reducing cost to you guys. Now with a batch style processing it means we get everything cut for lets say 10 bumpers and then they all get fitted then welded, then we'll do sliders, then we'll do swingouts on the bumpers, and aluminum (not necessarily in that order). Also every product requires a set up jig it's easier to run 40 sets of sliders getting set up for them all at once than to switch back and forth all day. That switching back and forth slows everything down 10 fold. So we'll jig up and set up to make a run of bumpers but they'll all be similar so it's not a lot of changing happening. Aluminum there are guys that are a lot further into waiting for their aluminum order than you but it's time to jig up and set up and run aluminum. We have one welder which we have to set up for aluminum so it's a switch back and forth thing we just switched to run aluminum and get all those orders taken care of which has been all week this week. As soon as they are done that welder gets switched back to steel and it'll run steel for a while. Other manufacturers run this batch style processing as well especially in this industry.

Ideally with how you are thinking that would be how it would work each order is built as it's received. But in practice that just causes bottlenecks and traffic jams and would turn your 12+ week lead time into 16+. So we set up the way we do to be the most efficient. We want more guys some more equipment and a bigger facility. Trust me I want to move fast too, Eddy pulled the reigns in on me yesterday because he doesn't want lead times that are through the roof. Instead we are looking to hire 2 new guys so we can be more efficient.

Oh and one more thing who spent more and what not that really doesn't mean squat to us. Just you doing business with us whether it's buying a little recovery point to the whole catalog is what means something to us. BTW you aren't the only one who dropped a bunch of coin we had many orders like yours this past sale which is quite surprising no one usually buys like you guys did buying multiple big ticket items. We do appreciate it very much.

Hey now we are Friends with those guys, their facility isn't too far from us. Really the owner and the guys are pretty good guys you'd probably like hanging out with them. They came to Eddy's wheelin' bday bash last year. There are a few others I'd mention in the off the shelf too. Plus who doesn't like a Frenchie that does parkour next to buggies jumping on rocks and acting like a ninja.
:rofl::rofl:That may be their industry standard but that's not ours. I just did an analysis. Ready for this Heafty is 16-20+ some of our competitors are longer than that and others are that length plus however long they are staying shut down right now. Eddy won't let me get it that out of control I've tried on numerous occasions. Hell I'm pushing him harder than anyone has for things. Justin is too in the shop with some design things and what not. It's a good team that gets shit done.

Y’all ain’t talked to the Fab Fours guys yet about their bumpers? Someone needs to let them know. Lol.

Holy shit, I didn’t realize Hefty was upwards of 20 weeks. Last us saw they were telling people 10 weeks.

You guys do solid work and having wheeled with y’all, you guys are good people and genuinely care about the product you put out unlike some of the bigger names.

Thanks for the compliment! We see that as well. Fab Fours are their own animals but they have some new stuff that doesn't look as crazy as their normal stuff. Their facility is extremely nice. I find it funny when people claim they are a Chinese company yet have 80 welder/fabricators and get the steel from the same place Eddy does. The owner is in his late 30s early 40s maybe, good dude, laid back, not cocky or pompus.

I wish it worked that way just an FYI my rear bumper has been "on order" for over a year my new front for 9 months, and new sliders for 2 months, along with a custom set of skids for about 9 months. I'm last on the list. We worry about others first. If you saw how my armor you'd laugh it's not the pristine shop truck look for sure, I've got the haggard abused bitch look going. Only time someone gets priority is if we are going to prototype something then we snake them in when we can but..........overtime is also worked to make up for some lost shop time. So like we Adam a few posts above with the KDSS his 4runner will probably end up at the shop for some prototyping and it'll jump some guys but that also benefits being able to expand and reach more people.

For now we are done with fastenal until further notice. UPS ships to the local freight pickup place but lately due to the virus thing they've been delivering to houses. So idk YMMV depending on the state and all that hell we are left in the dark half the time with freight right now.

What conversations where about a long term shutdown or mothballing. That's funny, and I quote, "I'll sleep in this bitch if I got to nothing is shutting these doors unless they arrest me" -Eddy. There is one thing about him he hates owing anyone and when ya'll place an order he feels like he owes you so you're getting your stuff.

As far as tips best practices and instructions that's our weakness hands down. All of us are the types to dig in get it done and don't really think about guys that don't know or have experience so we have to back pedal and think a lot when we are use to just doing. It's something we've been working on and are going to continue to work on is getting our instructions better. Also maybe even start doing them on our YouTube channel IDK we got a lot of work to do for sure.

Two years later, I came across this forum and remembered about this contest... I participated in it, but unfortunately I didn't manage to win anything. It would be interesting to know if the winner of the draw is still sitting on this forum, or has he forgotten about it for a long time? I'd like to ask him a couple of questions about the prank. Was he really sent a bumper or not ? I know that usually such drawings are often fraudulent, but I hope that in this case it is not so. I believe them, and even participated in this prank myself, but I was unlucky. But if the person who won the bumper has a generate paycheck stub, then I will immediately have no doubts about the contest.
